I was a previous student here, and I thought it was a great school. I would allow my children to attend with pride. There are some thugs, and this is the time your children are going to start hanging around the wrong people, so be careful.

I have been a teacher in the district and at this school for over 25 years. I have worked in other districts and states and found GMMSS to be friendly and student centered. The teachers are competent and use the latest techniques and technology to entice students to excel. I enjoy it at Middle South and so will you!

Although the buildings are in poor shape, until we pass a levy, it can't change. But, GMMSS is one of only 4 schools in the district rated EFFECTIVE on the State Report Card. They have a very caring staff. The previous posts simply aren't true.

This school needs help. It only cares about test scores, thats why the students can't pass, they spend all their time taking tests and not learning.

I attend middle school south and that was the biggest mistake of my life.Groveport middle school south lacks disipline from its staff that should be directed to the misbehaved students.

I have 3 children who are attending Groveport Schools. When we moved here (which was a mistake) I had heard that the schools were pretty behind the school we left. That doesn't put my mind at ease. I have an ALL A honor student and she hates it there! She isn't being challenged and she isn't learning anything new. The schools are really dirty and are falling apart. The teachers there do not seem too concerned with the students like they should be. They push the children aside that have ADHD, and they let them slip through the cracks. I would not recommend any of the GROVEPORT schools to anyone.

If your child has any kind of learning problem, this is not the school for them. They gravitate toward the smart kids and all others are left to fend on their own. There is no 'extra help' such as tutoring for kids who need it unless it has to do with the 'big test' in the spring. Teachers are their to make sure they learn, not to pass them over. There are no whole school lessons on how to treat others. Children are not being taught how to respect themselves or their peers. How can we expect them to learn without that? Assigned seating at lunch and no physical activity contribute to not such a great learning environment. If you have the means, send your child somewhere else.

As a parent of a middle schooler, and a past school secretary, Groveport Madison Middle School South has many obstacles and challenges in its path! First, the positives: Most of the teachers are wonderful with a deep concern for the students. The teaching staff do their best to help each student and make learning a fun and positive experience. They are knowledgeable and very capable teachers. Now for the negatives: The principal, the physical facility, the administrative office (superintendent), very little community support, the lack of money, the decay of the school district, the lack of parental support, problems with bussing, a school board that quarrels, and the list goes on and on. No room for details, but I'm sure you see the point. GMMSS has it's uphill battles and I don't see it reaching the top for awhile.

So far, I think the teachers are great. They seem to really care about the students.
