as a student at GMJHS i must say that since the last update the school has much improved. It still may not be up to par but a change has overcame. With a new Principal Mrs.Yoakum i feel that the school will have it together.I mean yeah sure the attitudes of the students and the behavior is terrible but once again with the new principal things are starting to change im not absoulutly safe at that school like i should be but i just focus on my academics and try to be sucess full and not let anyone else hold me back.,...Honestly if i was a parent i would send my child to GMJHS because they do have good teachers and great extra curriculiar activities(sports) thatsnks for your time :)

2007 brings single sessions and only 8th grade. 2nd year principal Zorba Ross pleads 'Avoid the Drama' every day and it seems less crowding and strict protocols have helped keep chaos at bay. As a substitute there I can witness the changes and hope it remains a one grade building.

I think that this school could improve much more. The kids are very tuff and have an attitude. I am a kid who goes there, and I am very scared. I am switching to a charter school. I would not recommend sending your kids there. The teachers are awesome, but I feel bad about how much they have to put up with. The people of Groveport could fix it up with a little bit of taxes, but they are too selfish to pay a little money for us kids. I hope that this has brought you some understanding of what Groveport is like!

This is a school with a lot of problems. The teachers are very good and have a lot of experience, but some are counting the days to retirement because they cannot afford to change districts. There is a lot of turnover in the students, with a high proportion of transients and foster children, plus an influx of those suspended from other area schools. The school is currently on triple shifts because the district has a hard time passing levies, and are using a lot of outdated materials. There were only enough for classroom copies of textbooks, not enough for each student. The students are a mix of motivated and not, with a heavy emphasis on the latter. About 30% of the population goes on to college. Most are vocational or community college material. Having worked there for 3 years, I personally would not send my kids there.

I think your school needs to improve by, getting together and making your enviorment better, ' quit teaching so much easy work,' and please stop making kids walk all the way around the building,'get main street fixed.'
