This school is a perfect example of how not to educate children. We were so disgusted with this school that we pulled our daughter out of the school. Our impression of the staff and principal was that they were uncaring about the student and only there to collect a paycheck.

My son went here from kindergarten through fifth grade, and he had a wonderful experience. All of his teachers were excellent, and I would recommend this school to any parent.

my child has been there sense kindergarten and the staff of all grades is wonderful and I think Rob Spicer is a great asset to the school, when Pat Farrenkoph was there she was also wonderful,

I believe Mr. Spicer is great for Britton E.S. I see many parents with the same complaint, discipline. I got an idea folks raise your children yourselves, don't wait for him to do it!!! Sure he may be in a bad mood by the time he talks to you after dealing with an undisciplined child, I know I would be. In my line of work I get the blame when a child or an adult is bad. Hey folks don't blame the educators take the time to look at yourselves in the mirror.

The principal they have this year is horrible with children and parents. He is unprofessional, intimidating to children, and has poor communication skills. He would be better off working in a prison.

The teachers are wonderful! The new principal Spicer does not communicate well with students or parents. He is inconsiderate, rude, tyrant, and harsh disciplinarian.

The teachers, most, are wonderful. Very concerned, caring, regarding your child. Though the principal does not communicate well with others, and does not demonstrate authority in an appropriate manner.

I love the way they make every child feel special. That says a lot about the teachers and the principal. I have one enrolled now in the 2nd grade and 3 more coming. I couldn't have picked better people to help me raise my child.

The classroom environment is wonderfully quiet and respectful. The teachers we've had so far are experienced, but learning new techniques every year. What a relief to find this school!

In 2010-2011, the Ohio Department of Education used the Value-Added Measure to show how much growth students made on the Ohio Achievement Test since the last school year. The state expects that student test scores will show an average year's worth of growth compared to test scores from the previous year. Ohio's Value-Added Measure is not the same as Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), a federal measure which uses different criteria.

About the tests

Ohio uses the Performance Index to provide an overall indication of how well students perform on its standardized tests each year. The Performance Index scores are based upon how well each student does on all tested subjects in grades 3 through 8 and 10. Schools and districts earn anywhere from 1.2 points for each student scoring at the advanced level to zero points for each untested student. The Performance Index ranges between 0 and 120, with 100 as the statewide goal for all students.
