Went There From K-5 & Honsetly Have Nothing Bad To Say About Lamendola. The Teachers Were Caring, Bunch Of Kids Were There So Nobody Was Left Out And The Lunch Was Good. (So You Dont Have To Worry About Unhealthy Food).
my student is a second grader at Lomendola. i am not pleased at all with the lack of no homework any night of the wee. I feel that even though class time gives them that opportunity to learn new task, i feel like homework should be a must for them to show parents what skill they learned new and that they understand it.
The third grade was exceptional. Homework everynight and the teachers seemed to really be in control of their classrooms and students. Our son in the type that will do a great job in a structured enviroment and discipline. Mrs. Neef, his third grade teacher was superb with those traits. In the fourth grade, homework was the rare exception, not the rule as they seem to allow students to do it in class. Our son as well as many others then rush through it to keep from bringing it home. Fifth grade has already started to same way with little to no homework. Math seems to be a touch lacking too. I will say that our daughter goes to a parochial pre-school and I noticed that in that grade school they use the same textbooks as LaMendola, sp it must be a teacher issue.
Lamendola is a great school. The teachers and Principal, Mrs. Pugh work well together in making sure each child receives a education. I have appreciated working with them last year 2007-2008.
My 3rd grader did very well at Lamendola. His teacher was excellent. When she saw that he was excelling in math and reading she gave him harder work to keep him challenged. Very pleased.
I am not satisfied with the fourth grade curriculum. The math program needs work as multiplication skills are not currently up to par. I am also not happy with the lack of creative writing and cursive writing. It seems that the children do not know how to write in cursive. Mind you, the teachers are doing their best as nowadays they must teach 'the test.' It just seems that there is a disconnect going from third grade to fourth. For example, in third grade there was weekly homework and what seemed to be higher expectations. Other parents as well as myself do not see that in fourth grade.
My daughter is thriving at La Mendola. We were at a local private school and I moved her to public and her teacher is amazing! Best thing we did!!!
overall, I think the quality of education is good. My children are performing very well. I do wish that there was more art incorporated. One negative comment is that at times, I think sometimes the curriculum is geared for the students who are struggling and the high kids end up doing busy work.
LaMendola is a great place for students to learn. Teachers are caring and will go the extra mile to help your child to succeed. My children went there and I would highly recommend it.
im 14 years old and i went to LaMendola from 2-5th grade and it's a pretty good school. They had lots of assemblies for kids to be entertained every quarter and the teachers are okay. there are some mean ones though but there's plenty of supplies and money at that school so you get a good education. They also keep improving the playground. LaMendola has a great principal too. I recommend sending your child to this school.
