I am deeply disappointed at the lack of organized communication and attention given to student inquiries on both homework/classwork and general operating procedures. We recently moved here, and "the great" school system was a large part of our choice. Six weeks into the year perhaps is not enough to make a fair eval. Don't see much improvement over confusion of first few weeks. The office staff is great, and I do agree with May 21, 2008 post.

The office staff is great. They engender a false sense of trust in the school which is broken by the teaching staff. The community is great and the scores are great, but it is a chicken and egg issue. The scores are great, because of the parents of the children taking the tests and not the educators. They then hide behind the test scores to rationalize their positiion that they obviously know what they are doing. Limited course shoises, no foreign languages, no individula adaptive teaching techniques, limited commucation. The only thing that makes Hudson and East Woods is the community which is great. The teachers needs to pull their heads out of the sand and become involved instead of thinking that they are the reason for the highly educated student populace that they have.

There is a wide disparity in the educational experience depending on teachers. Some are very demanding, create their own curriculum, and expect three or more hours a night of homework. Others never give homework and demand little of students. The one area of consistency is a remarkably poor math program that teachers estimating and techniques for standardized test taking and ignores basic mathematical principles.
