Columbia Elementary School

Unlike the other parent report for this school, we have heard anything but negative stories. Unfortunately, our experience with the principal and VP has been very bad. We have found them both difficult to deal with and wanting to do what is easiest and cheapest for students. They seem to give no respect to students or parents. The school rating for Performance Index Over Time from the state continues to drop. There is no excuse for a school in the suburbs to be performing like this. I agree with below that the principal is on the teacher's side no matter what. He is defensive of his staff and will not admit any wrongdoing.

I've had two kids go through this school. My wife and I are very involved with non-school sponsored sports. Of the dozens of parents and students that we know I have never heard anything but positive stories. The principle and VP handle the kids great and the kids know they can't get away with anything. They run the school just like I parent my children. They demand respect but also give the students respect. As in any profession you will have some teachers better than others but this school is great. Just check out the state scores for the evidence.

This school is terrible. The principle is on the teacher's side no matter what. He is defensive of his staff and will not admit any wrongdoing. Terrible special ed teachers here. AWFUL experience, wish I paid to send her elsewhere.
