I highly recommend St. Francis if you are looking for a school that delivers a quality education grounded in values. Small class sizes, customized classes, and teachers that care make a huge difference. Above all my kids are well prepared for high school; it's telling that St. Francis is one of the smallest feeder schools into the area's Catholic high school, but has higher than average achievement -- kids that are national merit scholars (3 of 7 total for 2012 are alums), higher proportions of students in honors classes, and many class leaders.
If you want to send your children to a school where they will learn core Catholic values, send them to St. Francis. The priest, principal, and faculty are very involved in making sure the children grow strong in their faith. The school is like a family and I never worry about my kids when they're there. We're having a new church built also!
My kids have had a great few years up till school year 2010-2011 new principal bad decision make a lot of families leave definitely should be looked in to by the Archidose! We loved the school the teachers are GREAT but the principal is make poor choice's.
St. Francis is a wonderful school. I love the small school size. The teachers really get to know the children well and can meet the needs of each individual. It is a great family atmosphere, well grounded in Christian principals. My kids have learned so much academically and spiritually.
We decided to come to this year for two reasons: a new principal with a plan to improve the school and the students and the high academic achievements of the students. The terra nova results are in and the students are performing above average and the new principal is taking the school in a positive, new direction. We are very pleased who chose St. Francis.
We are very happy to have our children at St. Francis de Sales School. The primary grade teachers establish an expectation of excellance. The upper grade teachers, who have the students for the important academic classes for more than one year, are able to teach more than the traditional one year one teacher approach. The small class size and Christian atmosphere make this school a real gem.
My husband and I are thrilled with the education that our daughters are receiving at SFDS. The teachers take the time to know them, challenge them, and instill Catholic values every day.
The new principal is working out quite well! He is structured and disciplined.
St Francis De Sales is a close community. The parents, students, teachers, and administration work together. Students achieve high academic standards as well learn the importance of values.
A new school year brought a new principal which has brought alot of positive energy to the school. Mr. McLaughlin will continue to build upon the programs that have been established over the past years that have received much positive feedback from both students and parents. Academics are comparable to other schools in the area -- with the exception that the faculty knows your child and your family on a personal level due to the small school size. St. Francis is known for reinforcing values taught at home -- respect, honor, courtesy -- which is especially important in this day and age. I highly recommend this school if you want to teach the whole child, not just academics.
