LHS has an overall excellent faculty and that is why I think it continues to receive excellent rankings both from the state's board of education and from alumni. Schools ARE a priority in Lebanon - just look at the tax levies that continue to pass year after year and take a census on how many parents went to Lebanon themselves! After attending kindergarten through twelfth grade in the Lebanon City School District, I was well-prepared for whatever college threw at me and built upon the knowledge I acquired at LHS. There are behavior problems and discipline issues in any school district but until you actually visit other schools and experience their "quality" of education, you won't realize how you have it here.

After reading the previous reviews, I am appalled by the lack of insight that the posters have. I graduated from Lebanon in 2008, and I had absolutely no issues in any areas. The teachers were all helpful and open to suggestions and they would be more than willing to stay after class or school to help. There were so many extracurricular options that many students were bouncing between three to four weekly. And if there were any issues that needed to be worked out, you could go to anyone and talk to them. To say that Lebanon is a poor or below average school is ridiculous. If anyone truly had these devastating problems that are being mentioned, they should have taken it up with the school. The faculty of Lebanon would have been more than willing to work with them.

I am very pleased with the education i received as well as the education my children are receiving from LHS. The parents, teachers, local residents, and local businesses go out of there way to make sure education is num 1 in Lebanon

As a 2007 graduate of Lebanon High School, I can say without reservation that it is one of the better public schools in Southwest Ohio. I am currently attending a vprestigious hniversity on the East Coast and I have Lebanon to thank for that. Contrary to many of the previous posts (which with their inadequate spelling and inability to convey a coherent message deem them unacceptable), Lebanon High's teachers, administrators and students show a willingness and drive to succeed and an unique ability to accept people and their dreams. I would recommend Lebanon to anyone without reservation.

This school system has been excellent for our daughter. Her overall academic skills have greatly improved. It has been my experience that the staff does care about the kids. I would recommend this school district to anyone.

I would have to agree- if your child has the slightest disability, this is not the school for you. It is a serious uphill battle to get any help or to get an IEP or 504 plan in place. I also agree with the statement about discipline, a child can be bullied and harassed and it takes parental extremes to have anything done about it-but let that same child wear the wrong clothing and the world is ending. Academically, the school is behind and does not offer the tools necessary for learning to its students. Many classes have no book and there are no tutoring services available at the school, you are encouraged to pay outside private tutors or other establishments (Sylvan, etc) in order to get the help your child needs.

I am sorry to say but if you have a child with a disability this is not the system you want to be in.

Most of the academic programs are good but the extra curricular activities are very limited. Lots of problems with behavior and student threats.

I was sadly dissapointed to read the previous bad reviews. Lebanon's schools have received high rating year after year. Lebanon's home town pride is very strong, and the teachers and staff are very involved in up holding this honnor. Parents are contacted when problems arise and they are dealt with quickly. This is a bennift of a small town school. The whole community is involved in the devlopment of every child.

This school is not good. The administration cares too much about the dress code. Students can come to school high and no one cares but if a girl wears a tanktop, its the end of the world. The teachers do not care about helping the students get good grades, they are not enthusiastic about their job at all. Parents are not informed about anything that goes on until their child does the slightest thing wrong. Teachers and princepals will leave a message and when the parents try to call back they can't get ahold of anybody. This school is insatisfactory, and I do not reccomend it to anyone.
