Children's Meeting House Elementary School

This school does more than what Montessori promises. Not only do they create an environment which embraces a love of learning, they allow the bright children to excel in an amazing, lush campus environment which promotes a holistic understanding of both nature and nurture. My daughter has been attending for two years and currently reads and does math above her level, as well has learned some French and Spanish. I contemplated moving into a different private school for 1st grade (just because it is so small I was worried that she was being too cocooned), but with both educational and social learning at such a high benchmark, I could not justify a move. Not sure of the details of the previous reviews which are negative, but admittedly, Montessori is not always the best choice for children who are not able to self-direct.

Horrible school. Don't waste your money - the teachers are unable to "respect the child" let alone your child's abilities. Good luck to us for the rest of the year. Good luck to those that choose to stay and harm their kids.

Awful experience, it is a good daycare. The school is unable to handle bulling, the communication between parent and teacher can be difficult, and they always try to solve the problem when its to late. Curriculum wise, its so behind its not even funny. The teachers are too young or too old, some of them try to send you to therapy, thinking your child has ADD, when in fact your child is beeing bullied. I would not recommend to my worse enemy.

I have two children who currently attend CMH and I would recommend this school to anyone. Both of my children have grown not only academically, but emotionally and socially as well. It is a beautiful environment with fabulous teachers. Montessori education is not for every student, and I am sure that it frustrates the parents of these students when they realize that their children cannot navigate their way in a Montessori classroom. The school is undergoing some growth with a change of leadership for the next school year. I think this will only enhance the current teaching staff and school board. I recommend that anyone who is even the least bit curious about the school or Montessori education come out and visit. I guarantee you will be impressed. School has only been out for summer vacation for two weeks and already my kids cannot wait to get back.

We live in a great public school district yet pay for our two children to go to Children's Meeting House Montessori because its worth it! After five years and lots of first hand observation in the classrooms, our high expectations have been exceeded. Our energetic son is supported by Montessori "Freedom Within Responsibility" and moves his body as needed while developing focus and doing above grade level reading and math. With the opportunities provided by a multi-aged classroom and team teaching environment where Respect and Grace and Courtesy reign, my strong willed and hard-on-herself daughter is learning to negotiate her social and emotional world while she also thrives academically. The beautiful acres of woods around the school are used as an extension of the classrooms and my children can identify birds, insect habits, plants, etc. The staff naturalist, yoga, spanish and music teachers are exceptional. The adherence to Montessori principles and methods and not just materials, the natural environment, and the highly trained teaching staff -all work so well as a whole. I am grateful to have found CMH; I was looking for a preschool but found a school.

I forgot to add...my son scored a 97% when tested on the 12 pieces of cirriculum required by the state of Ohio. The children at this school are amazingly bright. So much for woeful academics. My child spelled things ike "sky" when he was in kindergarten.
