Three of my grandchildren have or are attending Miamitown Elementary School. They have done very well there, including my grandson who has ADHD. The school is small but has ranked very high in the State of Ohio's report cards and has won awards of excellence. A lot of the children are living in or below the poverty level, but the teachers and administration are wonderful with them and it's a very positive, clean and happy place for the kids.

I once believed this to be a wonderful school until recently. As long as you have no problems then on the outside things appear well and good. I find that the children are not properly watched that bulling is basically tolerated with minimal repercussion. That if there is a problem and you question the care and the abilities of staff to handle a real problem you are delt with coldly and at times rudely by staff including the principal. Problems are swept under the rug sort to speak. Now as long as you are able to be a constant volunteer then you will have no worries you and your child will then be treated with the utmost care and concern. Other than that be concerned! 0 stars and may I strongly suggest if your child attends this school keep a constant watch on your child as no one there will!

My daughter is in her first year at Miamitown and doing very well. Her teacher has been great in finding her strengths and weaknesses and letting me know how she's doing. Thanks Mrs. Jefferson. Mr. Brown, the Superintendant was very helpful and courteous when I called with a question, I am very appreciative for this. Too many of our school administrators and teachers don't respond well to our kids and parents when we have questions and to be in a district where you can reach a person and not a recording is a relief. Thanks to all the staff and administrators of the Southwest Local School District.
