I'm writing as a former Edison student. Like many high school students, I hated school and thus hated Edison. Having been out in the world for a while now, I've realized that this school has provided me with an education unmatched by many other public schools. Many of the teachers (not all) have a great passion for teaching, and will go to great lengths to ensure their students' success. Many of my peers do not seem to have been challenged the way I was, and seem to have lacked some of the opportunities I was offered. The school devotes a lot of resources to both sports and academic clubs. The teachers and guidance counselor are approachable and friendly. The principal is not, but he has his own way of doing things. That being said, this is a small school in a small town. It's not very diverse and it isn't free of some of those small-town stereotypes. If you can past that (and you should), this is a great choice for a public school. You really can't do better in north central Ohio. I almost forgot- if your child is troubled, don't come here. They have a low tolerance for troublemakers and you won't get any support.

I was very disappointed with the welcome we received as a newly enrolled student! The principal needs to take a course in kindness and tactfulness! Academic wise the school seems to be right on target!

Edison is alright. I mean its not exactly home sweet home when you move but the students seem nice and you are accepted quickly and most of the teachers are nice. The custodians and the counslers are nice too. They make you feel welcomed when your feel outta place. They are an alright school which should mean a lot coming from somebody whp fully hates school with every fiber of her being. -Current new student

I am a previous student of this school. The teachers are always top notch, and seem to have a real passion for teaching. The courses offered are comparable to most other schools. Safety was never an issue at school. I really have only two complaints about this school. First is the current principal. The second is simply that for the huge amount of money the school takes in from taxes, it seems to spend very little on academic resources and opportunities for its students. Perhaps they should consider spending a little less on the football team, and concentrate on what school is really about.... learning.' - R C

I am a student from Edison High School and I think that Edison is a very safe school and the grades of the students are very good. I wish they offered more courses and more clubs, but this is a very small school. Edison has a lot of potential in the sports area. A big percentage of the school is involved in band. One of the things that I don't like about this school and town environment is that it isn't very diverse, and I would really, want potential students to know that, because when I moved here that was a big hurdle that I had to face and still am. If you are used to the comfort of a very small town, then I think that you would like this town and school.

Edison is the best High School that we have found. We moved here just for our children s education. Most teachers are terrific and we have one of the best music departments in the nation. If you decide to enroll here, don't do so with the idea of improving your child, come with the attitude to improve the school by your lifestyle and commitment. Improvement works both ways. If your child is a troublemaker don't expect much support in this district.
