My son and daughter will be second graders in the 2011-12 school year. My son has epilepsy and takes medication daily. The nurse is wonderful and shares open communication. When Milford's school district was redistricted we were concerned that we would not be part of the Pattison family. The teachers are well qualified. Prinicipal Curless is the best ever. Pattison also has it own TV show. I actually asked my kids for weather information. There isnt much cultural or economic diversity. We love Pattison.
Pattison is a great school. My daughter is "gifted" and has been fairly well served, but I do feel there is a bit too much focus on test scores and standardized test prep. My son is now in kindergarten and after one quarter is reading with great accuracy and I am finding his level of frustration level reduced to almost nil. As for diversity...there isn't so much...more economic diversity than cultural diversity. There is a pretty big chasm between the "haves" and "have nots" Overall a good school in a nice town.
Best staff from the janitor to the principal any child could wish to learn from!!!!!
Really great school, top-notch Principal - easily the best in Milford school system, some of the most involved parents I have seen. Very happy!
We love Pattison Elementary. Our son has almost finished his K year and we are very impressed with the level of education he has receieved.
Pattison has been a very good school. The new building is fantastic, the principal is the best you can get, and the academic standards are very good. Most of the teachers are really good but some are just ok which is probably the same at most schools. One issue I have with the school is with their music program. It is very lacking compared to other elementary schools. There is no chorus or orchestra. Forest Hills, Sycamore and others top schools in this area have more dedicated music teachers and full elementary music programs. These other schools have chorus groups at all age levels and they start kids playing instruments (including orchestral instruments - not just band) in the 4th grade. They also have numerous recitals. If Pattison could just step up it's music program, I think it could definitely become a top Cincinnati elementary.
We moved here from New York 7 years ago and we love it here at Pattison! Gregg Curless the Principal, the Teachers and all the Staff are the most positive group of people you will ever meet! They keep the children their top priority. Mr. Curless knows every child's name and parent at Pattison and personally signs every child's report card each quarter. There is about 700 children that attend Pattison. They love and welcome parents that volunteer in the classroom and for all the events that occur during the school year. You are always invited to have lunch with your children as well. I have children in Milford High School, Milford Jr High and Pattison Elementary. This school system's education is top notch along with the extra curricular activities such as band, clubs & sports are an added bonus!Your 'whole' family will benefit from Milford Schools!
Pattison is a great school with great teachers and a wonderful principal who greets each parent by name. Two thumbs up go to kindegarten teacher Ms. Huchinson, 2nd grade teacher Ms. Hurff and 3rd grade teacher Mr. Dunbar.
besides for haveing to take our child to and from - Pattison was a wonderful start for our Kindergardener - She had the best teacher - Miss Hutchison...and we are looking forward to many more great years to come at that school. Hopefully the city will change a few of the issues with levies - but we will just have to wait and see.
Pattison is great. There are one or two teachers that could be better, but that's life. Overall, a great experience. They need to pass the levies, but that should be a go now.
