I graduated from Field High School and I believe the quality of education is topnotch. I had wonderful, interesting, and concerned teachers who took the time to work with me when I needed help.
The Field School District ranks second in Portage County on 18-19 of the 23 measurements used on the state's report card published in local newspapers. We have not needed to use pay to play programs in our distict due to the fiscal responsibility of our administration. We have good art, music, theatre programs, and outstanding sports programs available to all students who are interested. There is a good level of parent involvement, although there is always room for improvement there, which always benefits the children. After all, isn't that really why we are there, at every game, recital, and conference? The quality of the academic programs could be more challenging, but that is always a difficult task when you are instructing a variety of levels of ability in the same classroom. I believe there could be more opportunities for higher academic achievement if the board would allocate for them.
My daughter entered this system in the 9th grade, has received a quality education up to this writing, is really enjoying the after school sports programs, and has made many very nice friends. With the passing of the levy, the buildings and facilities are receiving a serious upgrade. Mike Harris appears to be a very qualified person to be head principal of the high school. My thoughts are that your child would receive an excellent, well rounded, education from Field High School. Would like to see some availability of industrial arts at this facility.
I went to Field from elementary school all the way through my senior year in high school. The faculty and staff are excellent at teaching and helping with homework. I know because I was failing English my Senior year, it wasn't because i wasn't doing the assignments it was because I became really ill. The staff helped provide a tutor to teach me at home, I was able to pass English with a B for the year and graduate with my class in 2001. I was amazed at how helpful and caring the faculty is at Field. In my eyes Field is one of the best schools there is. Yes the buildings need some improvements but that is up to the citizens of Brimfield and Suffield to pass the levys. I ask all of you to pass the next levy so that your kids can have the buildings they deserve.
I went to Field High School from 1998 to 2000. All of my teachers were excellent. I can say, with no exaggeration, that my teachers made it possible for me to rise to the best of my abilities. However, I have strong misgivings about the way the administration of Field is handled. If it is a true representation of the views of the districts' parents, then I must say that the teachers of the Field district are exceedingly more qualified to nurture and generally be in charge of young peoples' minds than are the parents of the Field district, or the administrators they choose to represent themselves.
I went to field from Elementary school to high school.I think its a great school.I think the high school and Jr.High could use some upgrades. The Teachers are fantastic. As far as the teachers not having degrees I highly doubt that.My parents were proud to send mt to Field.
I go to FHS. It is a very good school, the teachers are Great! The buildings are so so but that can be overlooked for a better education, dont you think? The only reason we dont have new buildings is because noone in the district passes any levys becuase they are cheap....Dont you care for your children? But dont take me wrong I love the school, teachers and kids that go there.
I have three children in the Field system: one in high school, one in middle school and one in K. Yes, the buildings are declining, however, they are trying to do something about it -- we are the ones who have to pass the levy in order to get new schools. The teachers are awesome. We feel that our children are getting a great education and have nothing but good things to say about Field Schools!
This school is very poor. it looks nice on the outside but in the inside it is horrible. the ceiling leaks, some classrooms don't have heat, the computers are very old, some teachers don't have degrees. it's just a poor school that really needs some money.
Field High School is a fairly well run facility. They have very qualified teachers and administrators. The overall appearance of the school is declining, but with the help of some of the teachers, the rooms are looking better. I heard that some of the teachers took it upon themselves to fix up their own rooms and completely redo some of the rooms. That's great! Overall, It is a great school in my opinion. Most of the teachers are really great and take the time with their students. That's the way it should be.
