Although this school is only 4 years old, it has made excellent academic advances - with the exception of it's math department. The school, although it faired better than the state average in math, did not perform as well as the other schools in the area. This is of concern to me, and other parents. The accelerated learning opportunities are mixed - with some MINOR emphasis on Mathematics and VERY STGRONG emphasis in Language - English. They currently lack any opportunities in Sciences or History. They are also weak in Arts and Music. This year (2005-2006) they are offering Algebra I for gifted 8th gradestudents - this should benefit many students and allow them to eliminate a pre-requisite for high shcool math. Over all the extracurricular activities are only SPORTS related, lacking focus in other areas of concern - science, math, photography, and other Clubs. They are moving forward in a positive manner!
