My son began attending this school over almost 3 years ago. Initially, I was VERY impressed with the school & curriculum. However, I have become increasingly disappointed with this school regarding riducule of the students - or 'bullying'. There is so much of this that goes on & there is no 'adult' in any of the situations that puts a stop to it. It doesn't just stop at school, it continues on the bus going home. Point blank: it's just unacceptable!

Riverdale has some excellent high school teachers along with some junior high and elementary teachers. The problem with the school system is the administration, there is a definite power struggle going on. The board has no backbone, whatever the superintendent wants she gets. They definitely like to keep the parents out of the loop with the issue of spending and they insist on continuing to want more money. Discipline on the busses is a joke. If the camera doesn't see it then the child is not punished and the word of the bus driver goes void. The student to teacher ratio is great, but on a moving bus it is 60 or more students to one driver. The administration is in need of revamping. The teachers still care and try hard to keep students at a continous learning level. Safety is a concern when it comes to bussing.
