Kimpton is an excellent school. The new principal has done a lot to return our school to excellence. The scores have improved and the building scored excellent with distinction last year.

Kimpton is an OK school but Hudson is better. Most teachers are okay the smartest students are put on Teams 7-4 and 8-2 with 2 advanced class programs (one of them being math) They keep on changing principals, but that's okay. Some teachers are helpful, others could care less. Some are stereotypical. If you have the option of going to an area like Hudson, Beachwood, or Pepperpike I would reccomend it. They get better test scores and don't need as much improvement as Kimpton may need.

I have had 2 children go through the Stow School system and have been pleased with their educational experiences. I am also a working parent and have found that the teachers and administrators at Kimpton are more than willing to do whatever they can to work with parents and students. Without fail, these people go above and beyond to help children achieve their potential. I believe that if anything, the administration should be a little tougher on disciplinary issues. While the zero tolerance policy may seem tough, I appreciate the fact that it helped to keep my children safe. I also appreciated it when the administration took the necessary steps to remove children who caused classroom disruptions. I personally have found that staying involved in my children's lives and education (even though I work full-time)is the key. Overall, KMS is an outstanding school!

Kimpton Middle School is a great school that is using a lot of 'best practice' in its structure and teaching practices. I have had one son who attended Kimpton for 2 years and my younger son will be starting there this year. The team structure allows the teachers to get to know students better than other set ups that are in some other middle level schools. My son had a team of teachers in 8th grade who planned a unit based around the book by Homer Hickham which integrated Science, English, and Math. It was fun for the students and they learned much in the process. I have found that most of the teachers I have come in contact with at Kimpton are professional and caring. The principal, Mrs. DiTommaso is very professional and is all about doing what is best for the students; it is her priority.

This school has a lot of extra-curricular programs for after school. Children are provided with the chance of participating in things like student council, geography bee, spelling bee, band, orchestra, and so on. The teachers here are very caring and try to help their students as much as they can. Parent involvement is very high. They are encouraged to help their children out, whether going to Arts and Achievement Nights or going to band performances. Contrary to what was said in the other post, the leadership is very strong. I am always able to come home and talk to my family about something new that happened in school today. I am glad I was able to be apart of the Kimpton Middle School 'family.'

The stow monroe falls school district leaves alot to be desired. Teachers and administrative staff do not work with parents. Parents have no say in their childs education. The school does not work with parents to keep their children in school. Their zero tolerance protocol simply means that they do not want to deal with problems and their answer to this is to simple remove your child for the school system. The staff is unapproachable and never cares enough to try to find solutions to childrens issues. If you are a working parent you will find the school system to be not so flexible. If my children had attended stow schools prior to us buying our home we would have never purchased a home in this city.
