My son has extra needs and is a challenge in the mainstream classroom. He has done well with the help of an aide. The Principal and teachers have been exceptionally helpful and have maintained open communication that has been vital in his progress. I feel confident that every student gets the attention they need and deserve, so long as parents have effective communication with their children's teachers. I would have a hard time putting my children in any other program.

The teachers do not embrace the differences in their students and try to overstep their authority. My daughter has C in Language Arts and instead of offering a tutor or other resources, they have decided to recommend her for intervention with out contacting us. The teacher made hurtful comments to my daughter and when I brought it up to her she made it clear that she meant it and that she felt she was right. There have been other parents complain about this teacher and nothing has been approached. There are some wonderful teachers that make a real effort to meet the standard. Unfortunately, my daughter wasn't given one of those teachers.
