New richmond high school/ district was rated excellent by state. Also they have by far the state's best music program directed by Mr. Heflen
New Richmond is a truly remarkable school district. As a student, I have had a great experience in honor classes. The school also is making great strides in improving their AP course offerings. The school now offers AP tests in English, Calculus AB, Biology, Chemistry, Human Geography, U.S. Government, and Music Theory. The school also has an incredible vocal music department. The troubadours, the top choir, received a first place rating at a national contest and won ten thousand dollars by making a commercial for a car company. The facilities of the district are not all ne, but they all serve their pupose well. The high school is almost 43 years old, but it is one of the few in the county that boasts an auditorium and a pool. Overall, whether you consider the callibor of teachers, the facilities, or the overall educational standards, New Richmond would is a great district.
What a horrible school. Suspensions are given out more like they are detentions. For a small school, you would think the staff would have better control. The building is currently getting exterior renovations, when in all reality interior renovations are more needed. It really shouldn't matter how nice the school looks. Way to much money is spent on sports, and an updated library is almost desprately needed. I don't think there is a book in that library that is less than 20 years old. I recently moved to New Richmond in February, and I am greatly disappointed. I do not look forward to returning to such a horrible school next year.
