We moved from a failing district to the so-called "excellent" rated school district of North Canton. Every single year has been a battle for my kid who has a learning disability is considered an "at risk" student. North Canton does not have a competent enough staff to deal with kids like mine. He/she is not a trouble maker, he/she just learns differently and struggles in certain areas. It's a constant battle with the teachers and ESPECIALLY guidance to get any type of support/solutions for your kid. A terrible school for the outcast kid who does not participate in sports or does not make honors status. North Canton only wants to focus on high state test scores so they can have them published in a magazine.

This school is rated high, however, it can make even the most excellent student not feel like a good student. The grading scale is harder than other schools. It was 94% and up was an A,. Making it more difficult for scholarships and even getting into college. The testing takes priority these days and with the Hoover company no longer in business there is financial struggle in the area. sad but try.

As a 2009 graduate of Hoover and now a University student, I cannot emphasize how well my education for Hoover prepared me not just for college, but life in general. I feel as though I am leagues ahead of my classmates here in college and am slightly disappointed that I no longer enjoy the second-to-none quality of education and staff that serve as the core of Hoover High School. I will always be grateful for the privilege of having been able to attend one of the finest high schools in the country.

I just graduated from Hoover and as I look back at my education, I believe that I got one of the best. I am enrolled in a university and I believe that I am more prepared than a lot of my peers because of my education at Hoover.

I just graduated from Hoover in 2007, and I really never appreciated it as I do now. Every school has it's bumps and bad points, but Hoover really does prepare you for college. I am really thankful for going to this school. I am currently ahead of most Freshman in college due to the way that Hoover prepared me.

Don't get me wrong, Hoover is a great school, but its not all butterflies and tulips here. Only students can account for the stuff that really goes on.

Hoover is, as described by adminstrators, a 'triple A' school, as its students excel in academics, athletics, and the arts. A staff of qualified and caring teachers provides a great environment in which North Canton's young people can learn, and be well prepared for the future. When I went to college, I was amazed at how far ahead I was compared to the others in my classes, and I've heard similiar comments from Hoover alumni at many colleges and universities. The music and performing arts programs and faculty are second to none. High achievement and artistry abounds.

I am currently attending Hoover High School as a sophmore. I'm involved in wrestling, cross country, and track. I find the school to be in very good condition and to have a very friendly atmoshpere with a lot of school spirit. We have a variety of after school programs including sports, various clubs, an active theatre troupe, etc. we also have a very good balance of career courses and general classes from D.H. to honors calc. we also boast a strong language branch with several teachers in each spanish, french, and german and a spanish teacher who hails from columbia. overall i have been very happy with my experience at hoover high. GO VIKES!
