As an alumnus of this school and now an employee, I can tell you that it is difficult to find a school that excels like Norton. Education on a shoestring budget, but the students persevere and excel and they do it with class. I am also amazed at the unified spirit amongst the students and staff. Just come to a football game and watch cheerleaders, band members and student body acting as one. It is inspiring.

While I agree that our high school building is in need of replacement. I could not have chosen a better school district for my children to be educated in. We moved to Norton 4 years ago and I feared that the kids would have a hard time fitting into a new school. Was I ever wrong! Not only did the teachers and administration embrace my children, the majority of the students did, too. My children have received a quality education thanks to the great teachers in this district. They have made life long friends as well. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

I am a teacher at NHS, and I feel that our school does more with less. We are inventive and creative in reaching our students with new techniques. I hope that our students realize that NHS is a good school. We, as teachers, are caring and compasionate. I would not work anywhere else. Our students make our school a great school, better than the building itself.

I am also a student who just graduated in may. I too think Norton is a wonderful school district who truly cares about the children, and most of the teachers that I've come in contact with will gladly go out of their way to help anyone, whether they're in that teacher's class or not. In fact, I still email several of my high school teachers. The situation at Norton is very sad. If the levy was passed, then the school could begin to fix the little things that need to be fixed. Sure, our school is nowhere as big as neighboring districts, but the important thing about schools is education. I received a great education at Norton, and am proud to have my sisters and cousins still attend there. If I end up living in the district after college, I will be proud to have my children attend Norton public schools

I am a student and I think that Norton High School is a great school. It's true the school is not well taken care of, but how can we expect the school to get any better if there isn't enough money to fund the schools. If parents decide to complain and give the school a low rating, then try doing something to help change it, like passing the levy. It has to be done to better our school system. The teachers at Norton are wonderful. They do not focus on our bad attributes, but try to make us see our good. They are true role models. NHS forever!

I used to attend Norton Highschool from the years 2000 to 2002and I can honestly say that the school is too focused on students negative behavior and not enough on the positive. Also the school was poorly kept and I remember that when I went to school there there was several windows at the top of the stair well that were broken and not fixed the entire time I attended Norton, most of the lockers were damaged and never repaired.Overall I think this is a very unkept and academically unfocused school.
