Westwood has a top notch teaching staff and everyone cares about the students. Westwood has teachers that work hard and get great scores on testing. The staff works together as a team to provide the latest teaching techniques available for the students. They have afterschool tutoring available through Big Brothers as well as Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and a drama club. They participate in Destination Imagination and Junior Great Books. The parents are very involved at the school. Westwood is a wonderful school for the children to go to. There couple downfalls about the school. Both the students and parents tend to be a little on the 'clicky' side. Also parents have to fight and know their rights to get special services for their students who are struggling in school. I suggest a parent advocate or lawyer to get things done to help your child in a timely manner.
