I thought the school was decent for my daughter but when it was time for my son to attend, the school had lost its greatness. I would not even give this school one star due to the fact that we were treated horrible, harassed by staff and they called the police to scare my 5 year old into the building. When I called the superintendent he of course was gone for 2weeks so I had to talk to the assistant super who was baffled as to why this staff would pull such a thing. They threatened to close this school if the levy didn't pass, and they closed it-THANK GOD!!!! I will not be sending my kids to any of the schools here in Oregon!!! I also know of other parents who took their kids out of this district and sent them to private schools. My son completed the year minus the last 3 weeks because of their poor decisions and then they wanted to send him back to K again this year, but I am DONE with these schools, I would homeschool him before letting him attend school there, SHAME ON YOU OREGON CITY SCHOOLS!!!

Both my husband and I are very pleased with the extra attention, care, and support given to our daughter when she has struggled in her educational development due to a learning disability that we just found out she had last year and has received outside & inside help from. Thanks to a wonderful group of teachers who didn't give up on her either!! YOU ROCK!!!

Wynn Elementary School is such a wonderful school. The staff are always kind and friendly and always willing to help. The teachers have such patience with students and take the extra time to help them to acheive their goals in learning. I always feel welcome when I enter the school whether my child is good or if they misbehave. The teachers never down grades any child, they encourage and listen even if there are problems.

Wynn Elementary is a crown jewel of elementary schools in NW Ohio. With a dedicated staff who always put the best interests of their students first, I feel very fortunate to be able to send my children there.

In 2010-2011, the Ohio Department of Education used the Value-Added Measure to show how much growth students made on the Ohio Achievement Test since the last school year. The state expects that student test scores will show an average year's worth of growth compared to test scores from the previous year. Ohio's Value-Added Measure is not the same as Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), a federal measure which uses different criteria.

About the tests


Ohio uses the Performance Index to provide an overall indication of how well students perform on its standardized tests each year. The Performance Index scores are based upon how well each student does on all tested subjects in grades 3 through 8 and 10. Schools and districts earn anywhere from 1.2 points for each student scoring at the advanced level to zero points for each untested student. The Performance Index ranges between 0 and 120, with 100 as the statewide goal for all students.
