This is an incredible school. My daughter is in 5th grade and we couldn't be happier. If you have any doubts as to the credibility of this school, test scores say it all. The kids from this school are among the highest in the state EVERY year. The kids from this school go into H.S 3 steps ahead of other local grade schools. I saw the negative comments below and have only one thing to say. You can't blame everything on a school, learning starts at home.

Most of these reviews on this site are obviously plants from teachers and/or administrators who want to make a once well run institution look good again. There is so much gossip between teachers here that it really gets in the way of learning. Most teachers are worried about self preservation, using their students as pawns to make themselves appear gracious. Complaining here does no good. One of the cronies, with an obnoxious voice and an abusive history, couldn't make it at a local school down the road and decided to take her act here. That about says it all. Hiring an administrator whose only experience was as a kindergarten teacher and naming a president that has no administration experience sums it up. Save your money and go elsewhere. What once was is no longer.

This school has been outstanding for my kids. They have so many special achedemic programs that really help the children advance to their potential. We have met the sweetist kids and families through this school.

Bullying is a serious issue at this school and it is being swept under the rug. I believe the new principal may want to try and do something about this but her hands are tied. My child should not feel threatened or worry over her safety for three thousand dollars a year! The education was absolutely top notch but there is much more to learning than what comes out of a book. I would recommend thinking twice about this particular school, it just isn't what it once was. :(

I can't say enough about IWA. I have two children that are challenged and encouraged every single day. The approach is progressive and aggressive. I have spoken with many people concerning the levels of education in the surrounding area schools and have found that there is no comparison to Incarnate Word. Parents should expect to invest alot of time in helping their children in their studies and homework. The extreme amount of success of IWA students in various academic fairs speaks for itself.

The educational competence of the faculty and quality of learning is sub average. A definite waste of money.

What a wonderful school. I almost sent my children to another catholic school in the city that I actually reside. I am so glad I didn't! IWA has had a very positive affect on my children and their academic progress. The standards are very high and much is expected. The pay-off is that the students are miles ahead of where they should be at comparable schools. They are well prepared for high school and college as well since the study habits they've developed are fantastic. The school regularly attends science and math contests and wins the majority of the awards year after year! The CYO sports program is good and the volunteer/coach/parents are very supportive. Many parents attend functions showing their support to the school and it's students. If you choose IWA, you will be pleased.

Incarnate Word Academy has a long tradition of building a community of leaders. The school is setting the standards by which other elementary schools (both public and Catholic) are measured. The teaching methods are direct and precise which produces academic success in the student. Homework is given everynight to reinforce what the teacher taught during the day. Their Iowa are very high. Character development and student accountable is stressed in all grades. Overall, if you have high standards for your child concerning academics and character development, this is the school to attend.

The school is outstanding in all respects. As parents we feel this is the best academic preparation a student, or in our case, our children can have. We consider the cost an investment in our children's future
