I wouldn't send my daughter to any other school. This is her second year at Bethany and she is very happy there and is on the honor roll. I can't believe all of the things she is learning! I like the accelerated reading program and the new math program they have rolled out this year. This school is very challenging and they really do strive to be the best. Their test scores have exceeded the national average and they are up to date on all the latest technology. You name it, they have it! They offer many extracurricular activities, which I really like. I think that's great for the kids to be able to participate in sports and other school activities! So far, the kids seem to be very well behaved, the teachers are great and I don't have any complaints!

Saw the last couple of reviews...as a parent of two children who graduated from Bethany Lutheran and then went on to be very successful in High School, I had to respond with some factual information. Bethany Lutheran last year was visited by a national accreditation team and not only accredited but was recommended to receive the highest level of accreditation "Exemplary"...the first Lutheran School in Ohio to receive this recommendation, and one of only 5 Lutheran elementary schools nationally to receive the recommendation. Their principal last year was selected as the National Distinguished Lutheran Elementary Administrator by the Lutheran Education Association based in River Forest, Illinois. While I respect the right for anyone to express their own opinions on this forum, the parents of this school gave it a 96% approval rating when surveyed last year as part of their accreditation self study. This school has a challenging curriculum, is a leader in using technology throughout its curriculum, and prepares its students very well for High School. Their teachers are dedicated and caring and model their faith in Christ every day. My kids got a great education there.

The first thing that shocks me as I read these reviews, is that the school has a "Community Rating" of four stars. These parents' children evidently never had the teacher my granddaughter had. Complaints taken to the principal were never addressed...because nothing ever changed. My own three children were raised in a Missouri Synod Lutheran school in Glendale, AZ. It was WONDERFUL...the teachers were what teachers SHOULD be. The principal used his position to make sure every student received quality guidance each day...in every subject...and the students' self-esteem sky-rocketed! Now that my granddaughter is no longer attending Bethany, she has blossomed. If you think about it, that's a sad statement for Bethany, isn't it?? I don't know ALL of the teachers at Bethany, so I'm not speaking of them. I only know what transpired in my granddaughter's class...and the principal knows. Nothing was ever done to rectify the situation. Therefore, my granddaughter is now FLOURISHING at another private school and every single day is a joy for her. Thank God!!! I do want to add that her art teacher and her music teacher at Bethany were truly WONDERFUL and so VERY caring.

Transferred to a different school because of the lack of leadership with the administration. The teacher we had did not have one ounce of affection or acted like she liked what she was doing. It's so important to show the kids that you "want" to be there with them and smile. My child came home numerous times saying "I don't think the teacher likes kids". Not a school we would like to be at...so we changed.

Bethany Lutheran is a GREAT school! I feel good when I drop my daughters off each morning. The teachers are caring and set an example for a Christ-centered environment. The children there are well-mannered and care about each other. The principal is always visible and approachable. Any questions or problems have been handled promptly and with a caring attitude. My kids are challenged with the academic program offered and they have been on honor roll every year. They are excited about school! It's our "home away from home."

My children have attended Bethany since preschool. They are well prepared for any achievement testing and exceed national averages. The teachers and staff are caring, motivating, and have a genuine love of the teaching profession. I have yet to meet a teacher that I do not like. The principal is seen every day in the hallways, speaking with students and/or any parents that might be volunteering. When there are any issues that come up, they are dealt with quickly and in a way that demonstrates the Christian values the school is founded on.

This is the best school! Everyone is nice and the teachers are so helpful. Every kid in my classes since 1st grade has been on either merit or honor role. I love it here!

My daughter has attended Bethany Lutheran School for the past four years. I consider this school to be academically challenging which my daughter needs. They offer music, art, sports, church activities. The other students are well behaved and mannered. Almost all of the parents take an active role in their children's education. The older students are great with the younger ones. I feel safe dropping my daughter off in the morning and know I don't have to worry about her. She has ADD and her teachers have gone above and beyond working with her. I can't really think of anything I don't like about the school.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
