My child has been a LH district student since 2nd grade, seen a lot of growth. My son graduates this year and I really wished that the high school would focus on college prep prior to the senior year. When my son was a freshman they did away with their freshman h.s. prep class that taught study skills, etc. There is a great emphasis on football, but the experience has been good. The new principal seems to be liked by the students and staff and represents a much needed change in the district. Hope students are given more options and opportunities in the near future. I enjoy/like the parental involvement, better teacher communication is a must. Teachers need to be required to have their class website info up to date.

My child gets great grades and very positive feedback from her teachers but will ask me to add 4 and 9 for her or questions like is 'what state is Florida in.' Baffles me where her great grades come from.

My children currently attend Licking Heights and I think it is a great school because it is very diverse and forward thinking. And it happens to be my alma mater!

Overall Licking Heights has been a horrible school, personally I felt majority of the teachers did not care whatsoever of the needs of the pupils. My child transferred from another school district to Licking Heights and knew nothing about the school, I hadn't even known when she was expected to start. The students there seemed rude and acted as if they had no class to attend. My child did not even receive her OAT testing results she currently attends the high school and I am attempting to mover her from there.

I have been attending Licking Heights since the 4th grade, & i'm now a junior. I can honestly say that I've learned more here than any other school iv'e ever attended. This year I passed all my OGT's above proficient & that was with the help of all my wonderful teachers. Just like anything it has it down sides, but no school is perfect. The teachers & staff are very helpful, and you can come to them with any problem you may have. Most of the parents are very involved in the district. So to all the parents complaining, why don't you take a stand in your community to help, & vote yes on the levies so that we can have all of the amenities & electives that we need to have wonderful schools. Hopefully this changed your feelings on what kind of a school Licking Heights is.

This school is a great place to learn if you are willing. If your student is a harder worker and willing to go above and beyond than he or she will most certainly do good at this school and learn more than you could ever imagine.

The Parent Involvement Is Wonderful. I Would Say There Should Be More Sports Offered. I Think They Should Have Coaches For Sports Come From Outside Of The School. Having Teachers/Coaches Isn't The Best Idea. As For Safety And Discipline, I Think The School Does An Excellent Job In This Department.

We've been so satisfied with the school district! The teachers really seem to care about the kids. Parents also really seem willing to help out to promote extracurriculars and student learning.

Taxes more than tripled in 3 years. No communication with school or teachers about events, schedules, or grades until it is too late. More effort and time was required and set aside for extracurricular than educational. 5th grader didn't know multiplication tables and was not taught them. School seems like the 'good old boy' system. If you aren't from there, didn't grow up there, you will be shunned. Skate by on grades, no challenges in classes. Moved to Pickerington schools mainly because of Licking Heights. Best thing we did. What were A's in Licking Heights were now D's and F's in Pickerington. Effort improved, grades improved. School's focus is on wrong priority. Should be kids and education.//
