My children attended this school and overall it has been an o.k. experience. Nothing to get excited over. The district has grown tremendously in size and diversity of student population. Don't see how the administrators are working to diversify the teaching population. There aren't any minority teachers and the teachers need to learn more about cultures other than their own. The current principal at the middle school is way better than the previous one who could not relate to "other" people. I believe the academics are good, especially with many families moving in from districts that lower ratings. There needs to be more variety in classes offered even at middle school...my daughter had health and was forced to only watch football/male dominated sports related movies and complete worksheets that i call busywork...i am sure that change will come in time.
The March 4th Review seems to have been applied to the wrong school in the district as it mentions the 1st grader, while the Middle School is 6th,7th and 8th grades. The school delay can certainly be a problem for any household. Late start days have been used for many school districts. Outside the delayed start, the teachers are definitely involved for the greater good of the students, the administration has been informed and quick to resolve any issues, and transportation department rivals any other school district, anywhere. The teachers, administration and bus drivers know the children by name and make every concerted effort for our children's safety and education. Communication is open from the teachers to the Superintendent, excellent school and district.
Not impressed...1 hour delay every other week is a major disruption in working schedules for 2 income house holds. A 1st grader going to school @ 10:30am is way off base from other public schools. Teacher - Student relations needs improvement. Curriculum - Is behind compared to nearby districts. Principals - Needs to stay more informed with potential problems, & once discovered, handled properly and swiftly. Busing & transportation - issues are greater than more larger schooling districts. Would I recommend this school district? NO!!
