This school is not good, I have been bullied by several students there, sometimes when the substitute teacher takes place in front of a full time teacher absent, students had made fun of me by calling me names and saying that I am using dangerous items. Because I am a special needs student at the Junior high school and that we learn at a little slower pace. The students directly try bullying me all the time. This became my worst experience as I am being treated unfairly. I really don't think this school is recommended.

The school is not welcoming for students with disabilities. There is a lot of bullying with lots of talk but no action to stop it. The extracurricular activities are minimal for students with special needs and the teachers and administration do nothing to correct the situation.

I am a 8th grade student at Perrysburg Junior High. This school may be a little strict about things but it is for the safety of their students. Yea you can't wear booty shorts to school that's not a bad thing. They really enforce staying above drugs etc. If they hear that you have drugs with you they may search your locker. They may question you if they hear you smoked over the weekend. It's a good thing and helps to keep the school well respected. The teachers are very helpful just don't disrepect them.

I am a student in the 8th grade and I don't think that the perrysburg junior high is the best public middle school to go to. There are many 'cliques' which includes students, staff, and teachers! All I ever hear the teachers gossip about are about other people! They even gossip about kids in the classroom. A few keep their phones by them at ALL times, and even text during class. Or even take calls! I feel as though I get no respect as a student. I tend to get ill frequently throughout the seasons and at times need help catching up with school work. I am also deadly allergic to peanuts. I have missed 14 days of school so far. Some teachers give me 'looks' and ask me 'where have you been!'. Its so rude. I would rather go to a private school and wear uniforms. With GOOD teachers.

I am a parent of an eighth grader. My observation of this school is poor. Some teachers are great, while others give no respect to their students. it's all about keeping up with their to do list and getting it all done by the end of the year. When they should be helping the students that don't understand. They make no out reach to parents. The school is very clicki, and I'm talking about the students, parents & teachers! What a shame!

the school is great i love it (: the only thing is that this year we don't have a team study which really helps me get my homework done and gives me time to ask teachers questions about the work we did in class that day, and now we don't have that opportunity. also i'm not sure if they are doing this again this year but last year they divided us by boys and girls for the lunch period, which i did not like at all because most of my friends are guys and i'm a girl, so i hardly got to see them. i thought it was find how we did lunch in 6th grade. also the dress code is way too strict, nut other then those things, i love our school.

My eldest is gifted and had no issues with this school. My main observation is that they make almost no outreach to parents who are not available during school hours--many days needed to register (by grade, not alphabet, so the more kids you have, the more time it takes), after school events are done at 3:30, etc. My youngest is ADHD and gifted and that has been a real challenge, particularly since this school stopped mailing midterm grades and printing newsletters. They expect all parents have the time and access to computers to look it all up themselves. There are space issues particularly for musicr and the building was originally a high school, so the locker placement, smallish cafeteria (fewer HS students are at school all day) and the HS athletic facilities are all at this school, so after school it can be wild!

As a parent of an 8th and a 7th grader I am very disappointed in the Jr. High. I was very satisfied with the elementary school but I feel the Jr. High had its hands full with troubled students. The lack of parental supervision in this town makes for alot of 'uncontrollable ' teenagers!

I couldn't disagree more that people don't accept you if you're not from Perrysburg. I have found everyone to be very open and warm. I have had three children go through PJHS and PHS and they have had great success there and in college. My last is finishing up at PJHS this year and I'm sure she will have continued success at PHS and beyond.

Reconsider enrolling your child here. Perrysburg might be known for academics, but they have had many bomb threats to the school. You won't get respect from any teacher or student if you don't buy the best. I have come from a low income family, and do not wear the 'nice' clothes, I shop at Hot Topic, and do not get any respect from students or teachers. Please reconsider

I don't agree people won't give you the time of day if you weren't born/raised in Perrysburg. We have lived here for nearly 19 yrs., and our child attended the Perrysburg schools from pre-school thru high school. We have nothing negative to say. No, we are not in a 'click'. Just ordinary people who enjoy the community. Not everyone is going to like every teacher. We have found the teachers to be professional and understanding.

As a Parent of an Eighth Grade Student who has Learning Disabilities, It has been my Experience that Perrysburg Junior High Officials and Teaching Staff Refuse the Quality Attention Established in Written Form, & Agreed Upon therefore Causing failure of the Intent of the 504 Intervention Program. It leaves the 'Impression' that only 100% Achievable Children are 'Accepted' & Chosen to Receive 'Applicable' Education to Accomplish Educational Goals. This Concept goes 'Against the Grain' of The No Child Left Behind Act & Poses Serious Threats to Our Children who deserve the Best to Achieve Educational Success. If you have a Child with Any Kind of Learning Disability, and you can not afford to send them to a Appropriate Qualified School, I highly Recommend that as Parents you Follow up Very Closely with the Perrysburg Junior High Staff or Your Child will Definitely get 'Left Behind'

Growing up in the greater Toledo area, Perrysburg has long been known for their 'Excellent' school district. Excellent staff and students, high test scores, and high standards for success makes Perrysburg one of the best school districts in Ohio.

Some of the teachers are good, dedicated teachers, but some of them think they are great and have no room for improvement. If you are thinking of moving to Perrysburg, don't. If you didn't grow up here, most people will not give you the time of day.

Profile Completeness

Want to improve this school's profile?

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
