We have been at this school for two years now and it is excellent. The facilities are nice, there are plenty of activities for students to participate in, but most importantly, the teachers and staff are fantastic. In my opinion, it is the star of the Perrysburg elementary school system. The school does an excellent job of communicating with parents and students, and the difference in my child's aptitude for and interest in learning has been remarkable since she began attending. It is a fairly homogenous school population, though, in all ways. That is the only downfall I can think of for Ft. Meigs.
Test Scores speak for themselves, but the teachers are both supporting and challenging at the same time. Ft. Meigs has the largest enrolement, the fact that it received Excellent with distinction with that many students will tell you how strong the teacher's perform with all levels of abilities. To be up front, my wife teaches here, as well as our oldest daughter attends, but I see the amount of preperation that the staff dedicates to a normal day. I'm proud and confident our children will be prepared when they move to the next level of schools.
Considering the teachers here, they are superb and quality driven. Ohio reads is adapted, they care for students to excell. Mrs. Schooley knows the children by name and is very professional. This school is very sports driven, and that can be a negative if your child doesn't participate. Very large parent involvement. This school does have a share of cliques, but the teachers and principal do not tend to tolerate it if it is pointed out to them.
Our mission is to inspire and support families to champion their children's education - at
school, at home and in their community. We are a national non-profit with offices and programs
