This is a small school, with really good teachers. They make sure they know alot about the children they teach so they help them as much as they can. The teachers know every family and know every childs name. They score high on testing and these days thats all that matters to the state but they make sure no child is left behind. No matter what is wrong with them or if they have disablitys

We enjoyed our daughter attending Clay. The smalliness of it gave her great flexibility of activities. Level of education was very good!

My daughter is a purebred Panther with both her parents being Clay Alumni. It remains small in size and advanced classes are limited, but it remains strong academically, with higher grading standards than most of the schools in the area. Discipline remains paramount at Clay and the overall atmosphere hasn't changed much in over 40 years. Voters recently approved a school levy for new state-of-the-art buildings which will hopefully lead increased enrollment and more advanced class offerings.

I would recomennd this school to anyone. My family and I have lived here for four years, and both come from a large school distrcict, and we love the smaller district because the children come first. I believe that we have the best teachers here at Clay in Portsmouth, Ohio. Trust me you will not regret sending your children to this district. The teachers, principles, and super intendent are great people that really care for the kids.

My children have only went to one other school. The teachers here at Clay are very nice and they all remember my name when they see me outside of the school. I went to a different school growing up and it feels like I am an alumni from Clay. I would recommend this school to any of my friends who's children are having trouble with the teachers pet choosing teachers from another school. These teachers and the principal have no favorites. They are great with all of the kids. I also think the school spirit is awesome.
