This was my son's first year at the Richmond Heights Middle School and I LOVED it!! Mrs. Mateen greeted our family and made us feel very welcome in the city and in the district. My son left the middle school with a 3.75GPA! Thank you Mrs. Mateen and the Richmond Heights Middle School Staff for helping my son be a success.

RHMS is a very good school, which I am honored to attend as a student. There are many available advanced courses. Sports, there are plenty, include softball, baseball, volleyball, football, boys basketball, girls basketball, cheerleading, etc. Some other extracurricular activities are power of the pen, National Junior Honor Society, Science Olympiad, Lead, and newspaper. Parents are sent monthly info. packets. There is much diversity at this school. In all, it is a great school, where you feel comfortable with your work, safety, and teachers. They aren't scary, trust me. If you attend RHMS, I am sure you will like it.

Richmond Heights School District is not supportive of cultural diversity in the aspect of providing resources and community partnership nor working to improve their respondsibilities to the African American families and students. The district itself doesn't utilize any outside resource to ensure that education and support of students. The district only enforces their code of conduct and fails to educate students. The administration itself is not concerned with understanding how to use the many tools available for teaching students to be successful in all aspects of being educated. Every person that is a position to make a difference is white! This is a problem from the stand point of lack of understanding the cultures and honestly not wanting to understand. The district hide behind their rules and regulations instead of working with families and students. RHSD is a failure.

They need to come up with a stratigie to seperate the high school from the middle school. They need to disipline the students more. They also should have more extracurricular activities. Like an orchestra. Also some of the high schoolers should not have the same teachers as the middle schoolers. They have the same computer teacher, Home ect teacher, art teacher. it should not be that way. Also need to have new text books. They need to get a public library that kids can go to after school because Richmond Hts. Mini library is not even bigger than our average sized class room. So i think that they need to change the school around and paint it or do something.
