Our school always changes our schedules and principals, and they're always looking for a easy way to make money, even if what they do makes the students miserable, also when they get money the spend it all on things we dont need, the food always sucks, we have an overstock of flat screen TV's, SmartBoards, FlatScreens computers, and a newly paved parking lot, but are at a lack of books (one of my books are actually from the 70's), and most of our desks are falling apart. They make every student go through the breakfast line so they can make a profit out of it, they even force the JVS kids to go through it, They're so concered that they wont get enough money that they told us that they would give us a detention if we didn't go through it. But most of our teachers are good.
High consistant test scores. Seasoned dedicated teachers. Younger administration.
I am a parent of two Edison students. The teachers here are great and passionate about what they do. My kids do well in sports and fine arts. The bands and choirs are high points of the school and are well respected programs in the community. Edison is having financial difficulty like almost every other district in the state. We, the taxpayers, can complain or do something about it! Thanks 'Governor Shaft' for supporting Ohio public education!
Edison High School is a school where the students are the top priority. Each child is encouraged to do their personal best. The teachers are seasoned veterans and strive to bring out the best in each child. The small town environment encourages a warm and friendly atmosphere. The curriculum is very challenging across the board. The principal is fair and knows each child by name. He is a great leader and enjoys working closely with staff and students. Edison is limited in the financial resources at its disposal, but the school seems to flourish despite this obstacle. I am proud to say that my child is graduating from Edison High School.
I just transfered from Edison to Steubenville Big Red this year, I think that it might have been one of the smartest choices that I have ever made! Edison doesn't have much to offer its higher educated students because their too busy disciplining the troubled ones for stupid fights that go on every day at the school.
Edison high is an ok school. Some of the teachers are a little weird, but others are just fine. over all I would rate EHS at about a five on a scale of 1-10.
I think that this school could possibly be one of the worst schools in Ohio. First of all, the Board of education is just there for looks and they have no clue what to spend their money on! If this school could manage their money we would give them more of it. This school needs help, or it will fall apart quick, And i'm sorry to admit it, but I cant wait until that day!
Edison High School is a quality school. I attended there for four years, graduated with honors, and am now attending college. The knowledge that I obtained from my classes and extracurricular activities have had a great impact on my ability to achieve at the college level. I read so many people saying that EHS has no money... well why did you vote the levy down? The community in the Edison Local School District seems to be a bit hypocritical to me. They complain and complain but when it is crunch time, they don't do anything. I think that Edison High School is a wonderul school that offers a challenging curriculum. I will be proud if I am able to one day send my children to the school.
This school is horrible I attended there for 4 years. The guidance counselor told me I would never amount to anything and that I should just go to the JVS. Well I prooved wrong. I am now in Grad school at Duke University getting my masters in Psychology. Mr. George Donaldon and Mrs Sergakis were the only teachers who told me I would go far. If it wasn't for them I wouldnt of went to college. You need to get guidance counselors who are not negative and believe in their students. I pray that Mr. D and Mrs Sergakis are still teaching and making a difference as they did in me and my life. I thank you.
I was a student at Edison High School and i am now attending Brooke High School i am trancfering at the end of the semester back to EHS. I Can't wait to get back there at edison the teachers actually took the time and have to hope that they can help you pass. I do think that the fundraising would be a good idea. I understand about the parents mad about the unruley students but that is not the schools fault there is only so much punishment that a chools can do to a child. The education is very good from my prospective. Thanks!
