We left St. Christophers because we were not impressed with the curriculum. We have found Kensington to be an excellent school. Very happy with our decision to make the switch.

My son found it very hard to be successful in this school. He was picked on for his learning disability and harassed physically and verbally by many kids, both boys and girls."Somehow" lunch/playground monitors missed it.I did not miss the marks on his body when he came home, however. When an altercation finally occurred between my son (him defending himself) and a long-standing/long-ignored bully of his (which the principal was quick to tell me was a "a really nice kid that has never had any problems"), my son was the first to be blamed and the situation increasingly became mishandled by the principal, making my son even more anxious and hurt toward school.Thankfully the teachers and guidance dept came to his rescue formed a plan for him to seek support or retreat. That said, does this really address these sneaky "well liked" kids who get away with picking on kids who are different?I can think of four specific kids who have had similar experiences with this principal. All with LDs or of lower socioeconomic class. And that "nice" kid? After he and my son became tolerant acquaintances, my son heard his first slew of racial slurs in his life right from that "nice" boy's mouth.

Wonderful school. We came from St. Chris and could not be happier with the move. The educaiton is outstanding with teachers who truly care about each child and make sure each child's needs are met. There is so much enrichment and children are taught to treat each other with respect and caring. Because it is a public school there are a few characters but they are dealt with appropriately. Parents are very open and friendly and the administration is great.

The quality of academics is optimal! Year after year our school performs at an excellent level of acheivement. Many addtional programs are available to students and parents are very involved, including a very supportive PTA.

I think that because of the strong financial support that is given to this school system, more priority is given to test score results, than the daily comprehension of lesson plans across the board on all levels of education. I want my kids to learn to think outside the box, and not be afraid to challenge what they fully do not comprehend. Students are taught how to process information, school system has designed a program that produces positive test results so as to continue to maintain their financial support taxpayers. As for discipline in school, I think that these kids are tolerated by the school system K - 12 which empowers these kids to behave in whatever fashion they choose, (in short spoiled rich kids) who's parents do not consistently re-enforce the discipline guidelines that are in place by this school system. In this regard there must be a behavioral accountability for all students irregardless of parents social status within the Rocky River community. I personally find a total lack of disrespect for all levels of authority starting at home and generating out. Bottom line is not on cultivating young minds, but trying to tailor a process that moves these kids thru a educational system in the most efficient way so as not to defuse the flow of cash into that system.
