This school is horrible. The teachers are horrible, and so is the principal. Don't come here if you want to excel academically. This school is all about sports, it's all we have. No one has control. Also, the janitors do no cleaning, the school is disgusting. This is why I am going to online school. It's sad when an online school is better than an actual school.

i give it one star for the fact that they cant keep any good teachers at all and get new ones that dont care about the students.. in think it is bad that they are now posting fine up to $500 for missing school days. Dont get me wrong there are a lot of kids who should be punished but the ones that are really sick but dont need medical attention besides maybe an advil, they should not be punished. I stress this because i am a student at Shadyside High School.

The only reason this school is still open is the football program. They have managed to avoid consolidation by misguided priorities. I have lived in this town for 5 years. My wife was born and raised here. I am a huge football fan and I attended a small school. Don,t get me wrong, I think small town spirit is a good thing. But the residents of Shadyside are living in a fantasy world. Since I have lived here, there have been two levys. The first was defeated. Teachers were let go, meal programs were eliminated, academics and 'lesser' sports were cut. Two years later the levy passed with flying colors because the athletic program was threatened. Now there is talk about building a new football stadium????

I am an Alumni from SHS and I think Shadyside is one of the few schools around here that take pride in there school. The teachers are exellent and there test scores are not bad for a small school.

I graduated from SHS and I am also the Alumni Secretary. The only improvement that I would make to the school would be to boost the Band Program. The Arts are lost in the woodwork somewhere. The Band program is not funded by the School in anyway. Sports is played upon to much and there is no give and alot of take.
