Our child attended preschool here and we thought it was a good preschool. It is a newer facility, so spaces are bright and welcoming. Hear good things about the Academy, in terms of curriculum. Overall, my husband and I felt it was hit or miss with preschool rigor, depending on the teacher. Most of the staff are excellent. Founder is knowledgeable and responsive but have heard from many current and former parents that they've had issues with demeanor and attitude of the director of development. Has a way of making everyone feel they are not worthy of her and is very defensive if asked about anything. She is my only issue with this otherwise very good school.

I have two children who have attended this school for three years now and our experience has been terrific. My kids are reading, spelling and learning math well above grade level. One facet of the school I really like is their emphasis on character education with values like responsibility, initiative, and compassion. Not only are my kids becoming well educated but they are becoming better people.

This is our 2nd year at The Academy and we couldn't be happier. My son's knowledge is all over the place - very gifted in some areas, yet struggles with others. His 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. MacDonald, has been able to help 'balance' him. The school's philosophy of meeting each child's needs really shines through in her classroom. I can't say enough about how much my son LOVES to go to school. The class sizes are small and the attention given to each child is amazing. I would highly recommend this school.

As an educator and mother of three children (ages 3,5, & 7), I spent a lot of time researching the best educational environment. My husband and I wanted not only a school that utilized best practices academically, but also a place that appreciated the importance of a child's social/emotional growth. We found the perfect fit at The Academy at Minds in Motion. We are entering our 5th year at the The Academy, and our children have greatly benefited from the caring, nurturing and knowledgeable staff. We especially appreciated the individualized attention each child in the class receives due to the small teacher/student ratio. Children are given the opportunity to explore questions that develop through their natural curiosity. The integrated lessons provide the holistic approach to education that was a priority in our initial search. The academy had fulfilled all of our requirements for an educational environment for our children.

I currently have 2 Children attending Minds In Motion. My youngest is in the Preschool Program and my oldest is at the Academy in First Grade. They both just love it and always comment on how much fun they have. As a 2 year old my child came home and taught me what oviparous animals were. My husband and I are very pleased with the quality of the subjects taught. Everything is very hands on and class sizes are small. The teachers always seem to have a smile on their faces and a kind word for my girls. They do a great job teaching to the individual child and the level at which that child is at. The after school programs can not be beat either. Everything from Chinese classes to Art, Science, Computers and Yoga. Our family truly loves Minds in Motion and their philosophy on learning.

I have two children attending The Academy and I could not be more pleased. The quality of Education is excellent and challenging, offering small classes with a multi-age environment which allows all children to work at their own level. The school scored 99% over-all for all grades on the Iowa Test which shows that this School truly works. The Academy offers sports like tennis, horseback, ice skating, golf ect. My Children take piano and guitar at school along with extra courses like Chinese, cooking, dance, drama, book club and many more. We try to keep involved with the school as are most families that attend there. I cannot say enough about the Staff, Parents and Children. I cannot imagine my Children going anywhere else and neither can my Children, they actually are having fun learning and are eagar to go to school each day!

A truly cutting edge school. Here theory becomes practice as the child's needs and optimal learning environment is goal number one. Touring the school is enough to see that they are doing something different; something right. The director/principal, Gina, is an incredible leader and proponant of child-centered learning. The staff is warm and inviting, and there is a true feeling of family at this school. The small class sizes are the biggest plus, with each student receiving the individualized instruction that is just not available at most schools--public or private. In addition, the enrichment programs offered are outstanding! The website has many collapsing links, so be sure to click on every tab to the left, and be ready to learn a lot about why this is the best option for your child! It is my first choice!
