This is our daughter's first school experience. She is currently enrolled in the NCA preschool program. The teachers are so kind and patient. They allow each child to move at his or her own pace. Music and Scripture are woven into every activity. Our daughter has only been there for 4 weeks, but she can already recite the Pledge of Allegiance, the Pledge to the Bible, and the Pledge to the Christian Flag. She is singing Bible-based songs constantly, and she is learning about God every time she walks through the doors. She has already started telling us the phonetic sounds that letters make, and it's only the beginning of the school year. I'm excited to see what's to come. I would wholeheartedly recommend NCA to any parent!
I am very thankful that I am able to send my daughters to NCA. The teachers and administration are such blessings to the students and their families. They have a very acedemic cirriculum and include Jesus in their teaching. The children have a well rounded education.
We have been pleased with the education our children have received at NCA. The teachers want the best for each of the students. They give so much of themselves for less pay because they feel the foundation of Jesus Christ is so important. Classes are small and teachers are able to devote more time to each of the students.
This is hands down the worst school that my daughter has attended. Not only was she told that she was a 'bad Christian' because she watched Harry Potter movies, but the administration has not followed her IEP for her speech therapy. This is not acceptable and now that she's back in a public school she, and myself, are happier.
New Covenant Academy - St. Clairsville OH has been exactly what my children needed and what I have prayed for in education. The teachers are outstanding in their care and concern about the life education of each child. With individual attention and a study plan for each student abilities, the teachers have helped our children grow closer to God. This is a Christian school not a private school which focuses on educating our children for eternity and their skills as well. The opportunities for learning are many as well as community involvement activities. Each of my children are different: one excels in all subjects and the other struggles with basic concepts and the school has provided for each of their learning abilities. No school is perfect but this school's center is Christ not the world. After school activities include: soccer, basketball, cheerleading, track, science fair, math olympics, speech meets and others.
I feel that NCA is an example of why christian schools get a bad reputation. The administration promotes an elitest attitude and allows things to go on that the public schools wouldn't. They are so busy hiding the students from the 'real world' that they fall short on preparing them to live in the world. They promote biblical teachings in their curriculum, but the powers that be don't live them. NCA has different standards based on who you are and how much you contribute. Academically, my children benefited from NCA, but not socially. They were made to feel like outsiders, even though our family has been members of the church for over 35 years. Instead of bashing public schools on Sunday mornings, NCA ought to be looking within their ranks and seeking God's guidance on how to improve themselves.
New Covenant Academy (NCA) is a blessing. I have 2 middle school students that began enrollment this year and we are now at the end of the third nine-week grading period. Unlike the public school sysytem, NCA welcomes parent involvement and is not consumed with going on strike. Their teachers care about each student and quite often stay 1/2 hour or more after school if your student needs help, has to make up work, or wants to participate in a study group to prepare for an upcoming test. NCA offers a great academic curriculum along with extracurricular activities such as Drama, co-ed soccer and track, girls and boys basketball, cheerleading, and much more. The principal, teachers, and staff genuinely care.
New Covenant Academy has been most disappointing. Inconsistent level of professionalism and relevant experience from the administration on down. Not what you expect from a Christian school. Please note, this school is not ACSI 'accredited', only affiliated.
