I'm sorry that you had such a negative experience at Pugliese West. However, there are well over 400 children attending and most seem to be very happy. The staff is compassionate, caring and always willing to meet or speak with parents. Along with the other Elementaries in the Steubenville School District, we pride ourselves on being the best academically. We were awarded the title of Excellent with Distinction by the Ohio Department of Education, based on the third and fourth grade Ohio Achievement Testing. We have a top notch Early Childhood program. Our preschools fill up within 3 days of registration and we have an extensive waiting list to attend. Our Success for All reading program is the best in the state of Ohio...our kindergarten children begin first grade reading! Although shocked by the negative review, it is reassuring to know that the previous reviewer had a good experience with her four oldest children. To anyone considering Steubenville City Schools, I assure you that you will be highly impressed with the level of professionalism of the staff and the quality of the education your child will receive.

Not Happy!!! I have had difficulty with my youngest of five children that has went through this school and this year Very Disapointed. We have had a couple of Family meetings this year, however when I just called and felt I needed another one the teacher called to inform me that the principal wanted us to resolve it over the phone. Is that very profesional? In the first meeting we decided that my childs planner was to be our way of communicating and several times the planner was not filled out or I would write notes in it and never here a response, only to discover that the teacher 'does not have time' and ' it sounds like u are blaming me' I AM!!! Make the kid fill it out. Awful School!!!!!! Fifth kid I have experiance never said this of a school never even had a complaint till this.

This school is the best in the valley for your elementary age children. The staff is knowledgeable and caring, and the curriculum pushes the children to the next level. Wy family, children included, just loves this school. We only wish they had a preschool for the littlest ones.

This is one of the best schools around. Everything from staff to learning is top notch. Couldn't ask for a better school.
