My daughter just moved on to Lakeview this year after attending Highland. I feel that she is prepared to continue receving an excellent education. My son will be in the fourth grade this year and I look forward to another great year with the Highland Staff.
The new math program was a little hard to get used to as a parent at first but now I love it. It makes the think beyond the facts. They get to logically apply their basic knowledge to more challenging problems. The extracurricular activities are all available, but I would like to see more foreign language offered. They tried this for a while after school but it wasn't convenient. It needs to be part of the normal curriculum at this age level. The parents are greatly involved. You can always see a parent sitting in the hall helping out a child with reading (Ohio Reads Program) or homework. They get greatly involved with class parties, fundraisers, bookfairs. Its wonderful.
