We moved to Sylvania because of the good things that we heard about the schools. We have since removed our children from the schools. We cannot get over the amount of bully that goes on at McCord and the lack of interest that is shown by the staff.

The other reviewer is correct about the administrators and some of the teachers at this school that they are very harsh. There is a real problem with an abuse of power at McCord and it is the first negative experience we have had in the Sylvania school systems.

I am in the 7th grade at McCord. Most kids there hate the teachers because they are strict and give out a lot of homework. They do I usually have about an hours worth of homework everynight. It is very hard to keep up with. The 8th graders are mean and most of them believe that 6th and 7th graders are babies , when they, not that long ago were us. The principal and vice principal are very mean, I smile at them in the hallways and they pretend like they did not even see me, I know they did and I think it is extremely rude. A lot of our teachers and our principals think every kid is a horrible troublemaker. It is not fair even if you have all As and never get in trouble, they still think you are bad news.

The administrators and the teachers are outstanding. You could not ask for a better environment for your children.

I am a former student of MJH. This is a horrible school district. Don't get me wrong the administrators are great and the education is top notch. It the students. The students are stuck up, arrogant snobs. There is no excuse for the mahem that goes on there. It is so bad! Administrators should be involved but they're not. If you have ever seen the movie Mean Girls, imagine that 10Xs worse. That was my life. Also Sylvania has a one track mind that is completley sports, sports, sports. There are no extracurricular activities for the arts. You can't take drama classes until high school. It is a one track mind sports, sports, sports. And the thing about the kids is not just 'junior high' because for my 8th grade year I switched to Toledo School for the Arts and I am so much happier. I give MJHS a horrible review.

I believe this school is in a very fortunate school district. Henceforth reiking all of the benefits of the people living in the city. Sylvania city schools are some of the best schools in our area that people can go to. I am glad that I am getting sent as a child, J+K+S there to recieve a very awesome education. I hope that nothing will happen to Mc Cord Junior High and everything will stay as it is, a suceeding school! ~*KMS*~

I think that this school offers a variety of learning and extra-curricular activities. I disagree with the constant extra fees, from books to sports. It may adversely affect families who cannot afford the cost of these things in a public school setting.
