I have a few grand daughters who attend this school. Some teachers are outstanding and strive to maintain support and contact with parents while a lot of the others fail to maintain any contact or communication. I have also noticed that a small group of parents tend to monopolize all of the activities.
I have two kids currently attending this school. I feel that they are receiving the best education Toledo Public Schools has to offer. I am somewhat disappointed in TPS as a whole, but, they seem to be improving. The teachers and staff I have met seem to really care about the kids. My kids and wife tell me they love the principal. He seems like a very nice guy. I would have to add that it appears there are lots of extracurricular activities for the kids to participate in. Maybe too many, my wife volunteers for eveything.
I love crossgates My oldest daughter has been at this School for 7 years she started when they had a preschool program which they no longer have she is now in the 4th grade My youngest is in k and she loves it I like that my youngest daughter has the same teacher my oldest had hope to keep it that way I give this school a 10 I am a very happy parent feel very lucky to have my kids in such a great school.
Six years ago I had a child who started Crossgates. All went well for a while, after about two years things went downhill, I moved him to another school where he did wonderfully. Last year I had a child entering Kindergarten. I decided to put my youngest in Crossgates and give it another try. I have to say I am really glad I did. My son loves that school. I have also been very active at Crossgates. The more parental involment a school gets is only in the best interest of the child. I wish I would have figured this out when my oldest was there. I am good friends with a handful of teachers, and I feel that is very important. I hope to keep Brendon there through his 6th grade year.
My son transferred to Crossgates in the second grade (two years ago). He was very nervous at first, but fell in love with the school. The staff is fabulous and are always eager to work with you in every aspect of your child's education and development. I have infant twins now too and my husband and I have decided that when it is time to move to another home, we are definitely staying in the Crossgates area. We are very proud to be Crossgates Parents.
