St. Joan of Arc does offer many extracurricular activities and has a great academic program. I was warned that the social politics were nasty and as it turns out, they were right. Be warned.
My son is in kindergarten this year and is doing amazing! He loves the school and his teacher and can't wait to go every day. The school has great community service projects, they offer many extra curricular activities such as CYO sports, wonderful music programs, a musical play/performance, quiz bowl and MANY other activities as well. I am big on educating my children and sending them to the best possible school and this is the one we chose for our children!
Excellent school, friendly atmosphere, dedicated staff.Good academic and behavior standards
Two years ago i attended St. Joan of Arc, and by the time i reached high school, i was very prepared for my high school years. I learned many skills from my teachers in 7-8 grade that helped me to develope, and prepare for my high school years. Attending St. Joan of Arc from kindergarten to eigth grade, my class was very close by the end of my eight years, and our teachers through out the years pushed their students to become involed with eachother. Parent activity i believe was high at SJA. I can say we were never short parent volounteers when they were needed. Academic programs are strong, teachers who teach math know what they are doing which is great. All teachers have great strengths in there subjects they teach. Music and sports are very much available at SJA, with every sport,(CYO) band, highschool student sports, and student council. To say the least there are very few extracurricular activities for your children to do. I mean there is boy, girl, and cub scouts, and student council but not much more that that.
SJA has a wonderful active parent involvement, sports for many age groups, active service to community, excellent music program, 3 foreign language introduction classes - we are very happy there and find the kids are very prepared for high school.
I believe that SJA does not meet the needs of the kids. It seems like we are always having to re-teach the subjects when they get home. I also belive that there are not enough extracurricular activities for my kids. The junior high needs a lot of help. For a Catholic school, the teachers in both the 2nd and 8th grades to be Catholic, these are very formative years.
SJA give children a great start in life. The leadership and involvement demonstrated by teachers and parents is excellent! I have been so pleased with both of my sons progress. They have attended and we considered other schools, but I highly recommend SJA.
The staff at SJA are wonderful and caring people who put the children first.
