Trotwood Fitness & Prep Academy Elementary

I attended Trotwood Prepatory Fitness Academy from 6th-8th grade in 2010-2011 school year i graduated.This is the worst school i have ever been to the staff are nice and friendly if you are with the parents.But if your are in the instructional day they are mean pathic BULLIES. The typical school day is like a day at the zoo.DO NOT SEND ANY RELATIVES TO THIS SCHOOL IF YOU LOVE THEM. If they don't like your child they will make your child day miserble trust me.

FINISHING 2011 REvIEW: The new teachers look to be 21, yes, they just finished school and can handle the AVERAGE student. Should your child/childs class have a student with special needs, they are left behind...Recess and lunch, the time for the kids to relax, and talk with friends (seeing that they get on the bus @ 7am because they dont have their own busses, and dont get home til 5pm when they live in Trotwood) some grades dont get recess and they are not allowed to talk at lunch. Seems as if they want everything to be about the teachers and not about the kids. Out of 4 kids, 2 have been on field trips, and when they do have them parents (without showing license or insurance) drive them, "no tution" 15.00 per quarter, per kid and you will spend 80.00 on supplies and the uniforms have to be bought online from Florida (no trying on) and they are expensive. But make sure you have them or your child will be punished. They will send your child to I.S.S for missing uniform pieces. The uniforms are not to deflect conflict they are so their count stays up so they can recieve the money . And "testing" schools recieve extra money for kids with I.E.P's (that are not followed)

this school is progressing. After an unfortunate fire in trying to build a cafeteria, they are building a school with a cafeteria later eliminating the trailers. One thing i like about this school is they put the money towards the proper education of the child instead of on newfangled stuff. They test the child and then teach them where they are at academacially instead of the one size fit all teaching. For every child does not learn at the same pace. I have a son who has autism and they really worked with him. The children go on field trips. And the parents are always welcome to come and sit in class. Wish it went to the 12th grade.

I chose to send my son to TPFA last year, and this is my son's second year there. While I do not always agree with the discipline issues in this school, I do think that Mr. Neely goes out of his way to accomodate both parents and students. I think he is a fair man, and trys hard with what he has to work with. I do wish that they would continue past the eight grade, because I would like for my son to attend High School at TPFA. I do not wish to send him to Trotwood High School, as I feel that the disciplinary issues there far outweight the issues at TPFA. Thank you,

I can't understand why the state hasn't come in and shut this school down for a number of reasons. Where is the order in this school? Staff is unorganized and this disorganization reflects in the classroom and building. The school's report card is lacking. There is a serious discipline problem in this school. My children were homeschooled until I enrolled them in this school, a decision I have come to regret. My son is what you would call a teacher's pet, quiet and bright.I feared for his safety at this school because repeat diciplinary issue kids are not being dealt with and they are constantly picking with my son. Staff does nothing. The school buildings should be condemned. This school does not have enough money to do all of the things one parent claims they are attempting. They have had enough time to do better. Think again.

Think twice about letting your children attend this school. My child attended this school for two years and as the children get bigger, as does the disiplinary issues. Staff has no control over children in grades 5-8. The students in these grades do as they wish. The principle, Mr. Neely, is more concerned with keeping the enrollment at its current state that he is willing to keep highly disruptive students in his building. My child's teacher changed three times this past school year. How is a student supposed to learn when they are constantly having to pick the pieces up and begin again with a new instructor. There are two offices, one for primary and secondary buildings. The back office is never staffed or secured. Anyone can come in and do whatever they wished. Students in grades 5-8 have classes in trailers located outside the secondary builing. Don't attend this school!!!!

This school is moving up the ladder they just finished the gym floor. Next a playground maybe!! But still a great school.

My daughter, as well as my nephew, attended TPFA for the 2005-06 and the 2006-07 school years. Although there aren't any art or music classes, the school emphasizes academics and physical fitness. The school isn't much to look at from the outside (there are trailers for the seventh and eigth grade classes). The gym room and cafeteria both need improvement. The lack of aesthetics are ok because the money that would have been spent on beautification of the building goes to paying for educational products as well as quality teachers. I and my daughter both like this school. My daughter begged me to allow her to attend a third year for the fourth grade.

I chose not to send my children to Trotwood Fitness & Prepatory Academy. I kept them at our local Catholic school, even though the financial burden is very difficult. I really tried to like Trotwood Prep Academy, but they came up very short in many areas. They had no library, no playground equipment, no foreign language study and no music class. The staff was very nice, and seemed to truly care about the students. The principal went out of his way to take the time to talk to me, and returned phone calls promptly. It did seem a little better than our local public schools, but nowhere near the quality of education & disipline at Precious Blood Catholic school. Our children are the future, and we have to make the very best choices for them, even at our own expense.

No extracurricular activities yet. Maybe in the next year. Staff is wonderful. Parents are not involved enough, but PTO is great. School is strong and growing in its 3rd year (2004-2005) Academics are number one. Students have one hour of phys-ed or Karate everyday.
