We have twin girls and Wilcox has a great program for twins. We have our girls in a shared learning environment and it has really helped them become independent of each other. Both girls are reading in Kindergarten and enjoy school. Teachers care, parents help and it just feels like a Happy Place to learn. We are moving before they have to enter Bissell Elementary (that is Twinsburg's trouble school) but Wilcox is great!
My oldest son is in kindergarten now and LOVES it! He has a great teacher, and he's learning so much. His teacher has a centers-based approach in the classroom, which seems to be so effective! However, I've heard that not all teachers use the same structure. Too bad, since it works so well. I hope he gets a teacher like this one next year! I'm impressed with the academic programs available. I think the extracurricular activities are appropriate for the age group. If there's any advice I would give to a parent, it's get involved, at least a little. I'm in the library once a week, and it's very interesting. You can tell which kids have parents who help and care. These are critical years, and we need to teach them responsibility and respect at home so they can succeed in school. That gives them a valuable advantage in the classroom.
I think this is a good school and a growing school system. My daughter is in 1st grade and the teachers are great!
This is a great school! It has exceeded our expectations by far. Our son has advanced academically, and socially far beyond our expectations. The teachers and principal are wonderful. I can't think of one thing I would change.
Wilcox Elementary is a fabulous school with great teachers and staff. The principal, teachers, office staff and parent helpers are excellent. They care about the kids and as a substitute teacher,I've been impressed with how each child is challenged based on their individual needs. The school has a strong commitment to not only teaching academics, but in encouraging the students to be respectful, kind and learn to be responsible for their own actions. You always see smiling faces at this school.
