We moved to this district from another district that my 2nd grade daughter really enjoyed. But, we saw problems building with the previous school system and wanted to give our kids the best education possible. We made the right decision, as Demmitt has lived up to all of our standards. The teachers and guidance staff are exceptional. The school has a new principal this year and everyone seems very pleased with his efforts. The PTO works hard to support the school and has many volunteers. The curriculum is advanced and they encourage students to do their best without pushing them too hard. Children have the ability to meet and exceed their potential in the safe, nurturing environment the school provides them. Our kids will most certainly benefit greatly by attending this school during their elementary years. Jayne Nickole Lewis

Academics are excellent. Children learn reading and spelling skills through the use of several learning techniques, to include at home reading assignments of books that are short and emphisize current words, writing short stories and publishing them, pop corn words (2-3 letter words), wall words (put on wall to see regularily), active participation in spelling and phonics. Math skills are taught with several current techniques also that allow child to find technique that works best for them. Teacher participation and sharing of information excellent. Regular emails of classroom activites given out. Helpful hints to parents on how to improve your childs experiences at school given regularily. Thoughtful and complete evaluations given on my childs progress and participation in classroom activities. Overall very good teacher involvement and willingness to work with parents on a one on one basis.
