I am so pleased with the progress my son has made at Helke! He attended Kindergarten at a Dayton Charter School and did extremely well! He was reading at the level he should have been by the time he got to 1st grade! The school year is almost over and he is now reading at a 2nd grade level! The teachers are great and the parent volunteers really enjoy being there! I could not be happier with this school!

I am really pleased with Helke! Mr. Mecoli is the best pricipal in my opinion. The first time I met the man he was walking down the hall and called a child by name! You could tell that this child was not a trouble maker! I have a daughter that went to Helke through the first half of third grade! Mr. Mecoli new my youngest daughter by name and she is still not even in kindergarten! The school system really emphasises on reading! The children have to read for around 20 min each night! My only complaint is that they even in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades have tons of home work. My daughter had on average 2-2 1/2 hours of home work a night! Where she goes now she has not near that much.
