The facilities are old and crumbling, and the middle school students now go to the high school building. I don't like the idea middle school kids in the same building. That was the purpose of having different buildings in the first place. The district is very small, and does not offer the same amount of quality that neighboring districts have. They have not passed a new school levy since I believe it was 1998, and so many cuts have been made which has made a sharp contrast with this district compared to others nearby who offer brand new buildings with air conditioning and many more activities for the kids. Our district only offers a few sports and band. The neighboring districts offers a long list of activities including swimming and wrestling, no just football.

Mathews has an incredible quality of family about it. The atmosphere is genial and close-knit. The experience of going to school at Mathews was unique and enjoyable. However, the academics, athletics, and extra-curriculars are all below where they should be. This is fine school for average students, but little is done to foster advance students and not enough support exists for those who fall behind.
Our mission is to inspire and support families to champion their children's education - at
school, at home and in their community. We are a national non-profit with offices and programs
in Oakland, Milwaukee, Washington D.C. and Indianapolis.
