This is my first year at WGH and I'm a sophomore. I transfered from Niles and I find that I like it much more. There are going to be positive and negative things anywhere you go so don't let what other people tell you overbear your decision. If you stay away from the riff-raff you won't be affected. The academics are good and most of the techers are wonderful. Athletics-great! My point is, I love going to WGH.

I am the parent of a WGH freshman. My son really enjoys going to Harding. The music program is awesome and he has made a lot of friends in the band. His classes are challenging and the teachers seem dedicated. We feel that the diversity at WGH is great and are happy that our kids can attend there.

Both my children came from another school district on Open Enrollment. My son graduated and my daughter wis a Senior this year. I agree that it is the best school around. The teachers care about their students and do what they can to help them succeed. The principal also works with students and seems to know all the students that attend.Sending both children to WGH was the best decision we made. Both have excelled, been treated fairly, and been able to get involved in areas that would not have been available to them in the suburban school where we live. The one disappointment is the parent involvement. This is not the fault of the school as there are MANY opportunities for the involvement. Overall it is an awesome and special school. It is truly the best around. Thank-you to all that make it that way.

The teachers that my daughter have had are all very good. The principal's attitude is also excellent. The teachers and the principal will bend backward to work with parents and students for better education. There are problems in every school, and Warren has its share. But if you want your children to learn and be challenged academically, Warren's IB program will definitely do that along with prepare your kids for colleges.

I'm an african american female at wgh and i think harding is not the right school you would want your child to attend. Some of the teachers don't care about the students or just can't control the classrooms. But there are some really great teachers here. This school would be great for athletes trying to go somewhere in life because all they really care for is: the football and basketball.

I just ended my first year at WGH, and I thought it was wonderful. The teachers are willing to help you if you are willing to help yourself. If you go to this school you will have a great time in the learning enviroment and with the extra curricular activities. The environment is very much like college and it get's us ready for the life ahead of us. This school also offers alot of languages and can put you in classes that are on your level. I guarantee you will have fun and leave this school with alot of knowledge.

I agree, Harding is an excellent school- if the student is motivated to learn. It s possible to go through the entire system anonymously if you want to. If you show motivation, however, most teachers will be happy to help you. The students are much less cliquish than in smaller schools, which makes a much more positive environment. The curriculum was also very good, featuring a large list of languages and electives and an interesting schedule, which made the experience very college-like. The variety of the classes let the college-bound student get a head start on picking their chosen field. (Mine is Neurology, and the excellent sociology class taught by Mrs. Grischow opened my eyes to the field) The baccalaureate classes are also great, they really give you a leg up if you re interested in persuing a competitive college. It s by far the best school in the area.

I currently attend wgh and am a sr. I think harding is a great school; however it is so large that it is very difficult for teachers to keep track of their students. This is a good thing and a bad thing. Being as though there are so many kids inrolled at wgh the it is very easy for students to skip school. This teaches the students that if they dont want to learn than they pretty much dont have to; i.e. sorta what college is like. In college a good portion of the teachers dont care whether you pass or fail because at the end of the day they still get paid and the school has your tuition. This is also a bad thing because most kids hate school and its real easy for them to just leave. All in all harding is an awsome school. Thank you

I have 2 students attending and I believe that they offer a wide range of classes my children will leave this school prepared for college. The preIB and IB program is excellant.

This school has a lot of diversity but the curriculum that is offered here is the best in the area. Your child will get to experience real life and get to know and be friends with all types of people.

About the tests

In 2010-2011 Ohio used the Ohio Graduation Test (OGT) to test students in grade 10 in reading, writing, math, science and social studies. State averages displayed on public school profiles include public schools only. State averages displayed on private school profiles include private schools only. The OGT is a high school graduation requirement for public schools and chartered private schools. The OGT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined by the state of Ohio. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.

About the tests

Ohio uses the Performance Index to provide an overall indication of how well students perform on its standardized tests each year. The Performance Index scores are based upon how well each student does on all tested subjects in grades 3 through 8 and 10. Schools and districts earn anywhere from 1.2 points for each student scoring at the advanced level to zero points for each untested student. The Performance Index ranges between 0 and 120, with 100 as the statewide goal for all students.

About the tests

In 2010-2011, the Ohio Department of Education used the Value-Added Measure to show how much growth students made on the Ohio Achievement Test since the last school year. The state expects that student test scores will show an average year's worth of growth compared to test scores from the previous year. Ohio's Value-Added Measure is not the same as Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), a federal measure which uses different criteria.
