Walter Shade Shade has a great preschool program for ages 3-5. Your child is chosen by lottery and payment is based on the family's income. The school provides music, phys.ed. and discovery center (science.) It's a great place for socialization and learning the basic skills every child needs to get a good start in kindergarten. There is a large variety in the teachers and how they run their classrooms, handle discipline and supervision. Parents are encouraged to drop in anytime and be as involved as they choose to be. Special needs kids are mixed with normal functioning kids in smaller classrooms. I find that some of these classrooms could really use an extra helper to manage the kids since they have trouble following directions and focusing their attention. Overall a good choice if you live in West Carrollton and have young children.
My child has truly improved both socially and educationally so much this year. This is really a great school for a great beginning of any childs life. Great interaction between parents and teachers.
