I 've had three daughters go through Union Elementary starting in 1992. The faculty, staff, and parents make this school a national benchmark for caring, positive and high quality education. The principal, Bob Winterberger, sets the tone for the entire school. Go Union!

Union has quality teachers who are managed by a top notch principal. Bob Winterberger should be the standard that ALL school principals strive to emulate!

Union Elementary is incredible. The principal is such a wonderful educator. He takes time to talk to the students and to get to know them. My 2nd grade daughter says he is the best. Most principals in other schools are way to busy being administrators to speak to the children. Union Elementary is the best.

Teachers and administration are very caring and tailor the curriculum so that each student is challenged. Positive performances are praised. Especially in the younger grades, they are consistent in creating a disciplined environment where students can still be creative and have fun learning. Union parents are active in helping in classrooms and the many activities to help raise additional funds for Union. The Principal and Asst. Principal make themselves available 24/7 for the parents and students. THE PTSO sponsors many after school activities and the gym teacher is a legend. He personally organizes six different sports programs throughout the year.

Communication with parents is excellent. We like the attitude of the current principal. He says that each child is a member of their 'family'. He also says regarding advanced students that they prefer to keep them 'mainstreamed' but will work with parents to do what is best for their child. Recent problems passing the levy are concerning to the future of the school but one finally did pass so hopefully programs will return to normal.

Union is a very family oriented school. Communication between staff and parents is very open and easy. Two of my three children are involved in the speach program and it has been the best thing for them. Not only has their speach improved but their socialization skills and learning skills improved. From the custodian to the principal, the staff is completely involved and committed to helping your child to succeed.

My daughter had a very mild learning disability that another school passed over and labeled her as slow, but I knew there was more behind her frustration and so did the teachers at Union. It was identified and now she is back with her clas making A-A honor role all last year, her self esteem has soared. They also are very sensitive to the needs of families who have another primary language.

My ADHD grandchild failed first grade in another school. He has always made excellent grades at Union and he is extremely happy with the school. The principals and teachers really care.
