My daughter attends Pointview and it has a few really good teachers and the worst principal I've ever encountered. I am still unsure how she remains employed with the lack of professionalism she displays. I am looking for transfer my daughter to another school in the district. Sad part is, the principal could care less about the students there nor about the parents concerns.
LOVE my son's 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Himes. She is the most wonderful teacher my son has had and the most caring teacher in education I have seen in a long time.
My child attended this school for one year, and will not be going back. My school-loving child started telling me that he 'hated school and that his teacher hated him'. This was very sad to hear. Then I started looking over his papers that were coming home with bad marks, and finding mistakes that the teacher had made. I find this to be very terrible, and my child will not be returning to this school.
This is my childs first year at this school. This schools principle and teachers are the worst I have ever seen. I do not recomend this school system to anyone. My child will not be attending this school next year.
My son went here for 4-5 grades. I feel like this school is the 'step-child' of Westerville Schools. The economics in the area are low and I feel like because of that the school is not given the attention it deserves. Just because people are lower income doesn't mean their children deserve less education. They don't do many things that the other elementaries do. (Classroom parties, student events, music programs, talent shows etc. We had a couple of read nights but honestly...it was a joke. People need to sit down and try to figure out what can be done better for the school.
My daugher is in 2nd grade, and in my opinion - she has had the opportunity to learn from two of the most qualified, caring, educated, professional teachers I've ever met. Their leadership and enthusiasm is amazing. I like that the school is filled with children from diverse cultural backgrounds. Because of this, the children are able to learn from each other, and root for and care about each other. Sure, there are problems - every school has it's own set of challenges. But this school has a great attitude - willing to face these challenges head on. I'm proud of Pointview.
In the past I was quite disappointed in the school. My son needed special ed and they kept refusing to even test him. Now the school has a new principle and I must say it has become a wonderful school. My youngest is there now and he is receiving an excelent education.
