I sold our family's house to move across town so that my kids could go to Westerville North! Westerville South is horrible! The teachers don't give a darn about the parents' concerns and the only thing this school has got going for it is its theater and drama program. Also, the school boasts about its diversity...please! This school is about as diverse as a bag of chocolate chips!
I'm currently at this school as a freshman, and frankly I don't understand the hype about this school. There's so much arguing and fighting between students, I have several teachers who really don't care, or get frustrated with a student not understand very easily. I'm ready to leave this school already.
Great academics and athletics!!! Voted silver and bronze medald from US News and World report. IB program scored in the top 10% in the world in IB exams. There is something for everyone at Westerville South HS.
My son has gone to schools all over the world, including international schools in Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and the UK. He has said on many occasions that the teachers he has at South are the best he has ever had in any school and he has attended excellent schools. He says the teachers are interesting as well as interested in their students. As a former educator I am more than pleased with Westerville South.
I have had 3 sons graduate from the school and the first two were well prepared for the work required of them in college. We will find out about the third this year, but I don't expect significant problems. Each had extensive involvement in extra curricular activities that varied from vocal and instrumental music, theatre, multiple sports, class leadership and other group activities. Each had different but involved teachers and staff with whom they interacted and enjoyed. This is a school that has a diverse student population from racial and ethnic backgrounds and each son interacted with some members of other such groups.
I thought this school was amazing, it offered great cources and has a great teaching staff.
I am very pleased with the staff, teachers, and the principal at Westerville South High School. They are very hard working, they know the students in the school and relate very well with them. Test scores have soared , the staff, teachers and principal work as a team for the good of the students. Thank you
I think it is a great school, especially with the IB program they have now. My son got the International Baccalaureate degree there, is in college now, and he said it prepared him very well for the Engineering program he is currently taking. They have top notch teachers, a great principal, and promote enthusiasm for learning.
I commend Mr. Bell for the 'Vision' of congregating 'Everyone' to the common goal. Good Leadership, Good Fellowship, and Good Followship will bring Ultimate success.
I think that westerville South is an excellent school. the Principle Mr. Bell is very experienced with students. Since Mr. Bell became principle that attendance rate increased by huge number and the OGT scores went up also
